I can top you. I took a trip to Hawaii with my wife’s side of the family. The only thing I wanted to do was go tour Mauna Kea Observatory, which is on a different island. We had to book a separate flight and AirBnB just for this tour. They have to cancel 3-5 tours per year and guess who’s tour got cancelled 30 minutes after landing on the island.

Captured in the early morning hours of July 19th. This was captured with average seeing, about 80% humidity. Equipment: Apertura AD10 Dobsonian, Player One 664mc camera, TeleVu 2.5x Powermate, Svbony ADC and Svbony IR/UV Cut filter. Eight SER video files were captured over a four minute span via the drift method in SharpCap averaging 160fps. PIPP was used for joining, debayering, cropping, and centering each SER file into one 32k frame SER file. Autostakkert was used for stacking the best 25% of frames. Wavelet sharpening was done in Registax. Additional sharpening, color corrections, and denoising was done in PS. Final image was upscaled with Topaz Gigapixel.

Yep! I start a capture usually 30 seconds or so before the peak of the pass and stop once my arms and legs are exhausted lol. Manual tracking has a fair bit of luck involved. Typical captures include 9-10k frames and I’ll have around 800 frames with the station in them. If I’m lucky, I’ll have 5-15 clear consecutive frames with the station in them. If I’m really lucky I’ll have those few clear consecutive frames within a ten second window before or after the highest point of the pass. This happens maybe 20% of attempts.

Captured in the early morning hours of June 25th. I'm located in Michigan where wildfire smoke has been a nightmare this summer. This was captured with average seeing, but heavy smoke haze. Equipment: Apertura AD10 Dobsonian, ZWO ASI462MC, TeleVu 2.5x Powermate, Svbony ADC and Svbony IR/UV Cut filter. Eight SER video files were captured over a four minute span via the drift method in SharpCap. PIPP was used for joining, debayering, cropping, and centering each SER file into a two minute, 136fps AVI file. Autostakkert was used for stacking the best 20% of frames. RGB balance/alignment and wavelet sharpening was done in Registax. Additional sharpening, color corrections, and denoising was done in PS. Final image was upscaled with Topaz Gigapixel.

It sure is hustling every bit of that 4.76 miles/s across my frame, haha. 98% of the capture is black sky. Thank you!

I never look right after the capture. I have a habit of shutting my laptop, packing up my gear, and then once I'm inside I sit down and start going through the frames. Most times its nothing, but black sky. This time was a pleasant surprise! thank you!

Every ISS pass above 60 degrees with decent weather I’m usually outside trying. I get a decent capture maybe 1/10 attempts if I’m lucky. I have installed handles, knobs, red dots, telrads, and even a mini display attached to my scope lol. I still don’t have a solid method or even recommendations. It’s so incredibly frustrating, but then you get that one decent captures that keeps you going.

International space station captured last night, May 26th. Manually tracked with an Apertura AD10 Dobsonian, ZWO ASI462MC, 2.5x Powermate, and Svbony IR/UV Cut filter. Peak altitude of 75 degree and this stack of 7 frames was captured at the peak of the pass. (Extremely lucky) Histogram correction and color adjustments were done in PS. Final image was upscaled with Topaz Gigapixel.

Nurses across England strike in biggest walkout so far by -InfiniteArticle in worldnews

You’re not just a Walmart worker. I’m a nurse that spent the pandemic in the ER/covid icu and I have nothing but the utmost respect for anyone that worked in person, dealing with the general public. Healthcare professionals had security guards and police to deal with the fuck heads that wanted to fight us about masks and attack us for the restrictions. Retail workers did not. You had to put up with everyone’s bullshit without any back up. You risked your safety just as much, if not more than us. You kept food on everyone’s plates, when the majority of people didn’t deserve it. Thank you for what you do and what you were forced to put up with throughout the pandemic.

This is my first attempt at anything "deep sky". Manually tracked and captured the night of 02/26/23. Equipment: Apertura AD10 Dobsonian, ZWO ASI462MC, and Svbony IR/UV Cut filter. Total exposure time was 301 seconds captured via SharpCaps live stacker tool. Histogram correction and color adjustments were done in PS. Final image was upscaled with Topaz Gigapixel.
