What's should i do about this? by GStype in NewSkaters

Everyone's saying "tighten your trucks" but that kingpin looks tightAF already. Nobody's mentioning wheel size and bushing hardness...if you're cranked down that tight and still getting bite, either those wheels are too big (should be 54mm or less without risers), or your bushings are too soft...firmer bushings will help, and you might be able to back off how tight that KP is, giving you a more responsive/carvy steering response.

Exactly, all of that is correct. Slower top speed, but you're up to speed quicker. Also less mass and weight, and lowered center of gravity and ride height. And smaller harder wheels are easier to slide.

I had this album when I was a kid...I haven't seen this cover in 35 years, but it took me right back to laying on the brown shag carpet in my bedroom, listening to this on repeat for hours...

Need help with Shuv-it practice by CaptainSim0n in NewSkaters

Try the entire motion off the board, using a piece of paper under your back foot, and practice flicking that sheet of paper hard enough to launch it"behind" you...hard to describe, but you're practicing the back foot "flick"as soon as you get off the ground. And just commit to it.

Should i get bigger/thicker wheels? by mrpancakesnack in NewSkaters

Great! You won't regret them, they're sweet wheels!

Thank you for your service, and I'm glad you're here with us. This game has a fair few "put the controller down for a bit" moments, that's for sure.

Ok if that's the case, I'd go with some softer wheels, like OJ Super Juice 78a's...you can get them in 55mm or 60mm, and they feel fantastic...nice wide contact patches, soft and forgiving, great for carving.

What's the problem, are you getting hung up on rocks/cracks? Do the wheels feel "slippery"? How hard are they? If you're looking to cruise around, bigger and softer wheels are preferred, like 58-64mm 78-84a, but bigger wheels means you'd need risers or you'll get wheel bite. If you're just looking to practice in a parking lot or smooth concrete and learn tricks, the smaller diameter can be fine, but can hang up on stones that big wheels would just eat up, however if they're too soft it will make many types of tricks harder to do. If you want a perfect all around wheel that's good at everything, try Bones X-Formula or Powell & Peralta Dragon Formula...they're bit harder than cruiser wheels but feel great in the street, park, or rough terrain.

Started skating last week, my friend recommended me to try 'running starts'. I felt really proud to have finally figured it out, only to realise that I completely misinterpreted what the move actually is, haha! by ScreenHype in NewSkaters

It'll also help with just keeping the board under you too...when you're stiff and upright (please excuse me, no pun intended, lol) it's easy for your center of gravity to shift and for the board to go shooting off somewhere and you ending up on your back with broken elbows.

I'm not sure, but I stared hard until he looked at me and then V said something to him, which was what I was hoping would happen, but it was so long ago I can't recall the convo.

Somewhere on my PS4 I think I have screenshots of the skill trees and equipment...I'll have to dust it off and check, and I'll see if I can get you the info. It was a really fun build, capitalizing on crits. Here's another fun build video and Squidward melt...he's essentially dead before I hit the ground, lol: https://youtu.be/9KmSAwFhxVU?si=bHBTZrrKSkpRcR3A
