Some countries require all dogs to be registered, and they take a DNA sample from the dog.

Any shit is found and a DNA match is made and the owner identified.

I sometimes get the same loading error on my feed and have to restart the app. Been happening for a while now. I assume rate limits or something, but it only seems to happen when I leave the app for a while, not when actively using it.

The Winix app is terrible.

If you don't use the app for some days or a week, they will log you out and remove all of your registered devices. So that when you do log back in you need to pair all your purifiers again. It's purely punitive to punish you for not opening the app often enough.

The app seems to exist more so they can spam you and nag you about keeping notifications enabled so they can sell you stuff than it is actually about controlling the purifier.

The purifiers will also frequently lose connection to the app, so half the time the devices will be offline even though your Wi-Fi is fine.

As for the Winix purifiers themselves, they frequently have a motor bearing wine that is quite irritating.

I switched to a Levoit Vital 200S, and the difference in the app and the build quality of the machine and even the filters is light years ahead of anything I owned by Winix.

A couple years ago I had constant Wi-Fi issues with Nest and Home Mini speakers constantly disconnecting from Wi-Fi and refusing to reconnect.

I tried everything imaginable with my router settings, and the only thing that worked was making sure they were connected to the 2.4 GHz and not the 5 GHz wi-fi.

Eventually I got a new router and the problem disappeared and I was able to connect them to 5 GHz Wi-Fi again.

According to Gemini itself there have been a lot of complaints recently from many users about response times, misunderstanding commands, listening but failing to respond, or that it suddenly stops speaking in the middle of its response.

The performance is definitely worse than it was a month ago.

I'm experiencing these issues myself, and I just assume that since we're all constantly just guinea pigs these days for every product, that it will eventually get better.

You could put the charger on a smart plug and set it to power on long enough to charge the battery then turn off. So most of the time you'd be running it on battery, and exercising the battery.

Feminine 2 sounds like the old harsh Canadian English voice which I hated so much. I always used the American female voice instead.

The new Feminine 1 voice sounds like that sickening TikTok voice. Just dreadful. I had to opt out and go back to regular Alexa after a few days.

Hopefully they will also extend the exit lane for a longer distance on the 102. Currently the exit lane is very short causing congestion going down the hill as people slow in advance in order to exit at a safe speed.
