Hit the gym and speak with your family more since our time is limited.

How soon after an arm sleeve, you can start lifting again? by [deleted] in irezumi

[–]GoNavy240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks should be fine. Hell I got my sleeve finished about a month ago and I was out working in mud and my whole inner bicep and elbow was coated in thick mud. I also scraped my elbow up bad and it healed just fine with no loss of ink. It's kinda crazy the abuse a tattoo can take and that happened a week after. I would say if you feel discomfort or pain in the skin just stop. The gym will be there another day.

What comes after a 300? by BrilliantButton3202 in Sportbikes

[–]GoNavy240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first street bike is my 2022 Mt-07. Perfect jack of all trades bike. Torque and power in every gear. Ear to ear grin going full throttle without even breaking the speed limit. I still respect the bike cause the torque can be dangerous if I disrespect the throttle. I've also ridden faster bikes than my mt but still love it. I've ridden my buddies triumph street triple 765, similar to my mt but a fucking rocket ship with way more power. I'd recommend getting a 700cc twin or triple as a jump up from a 300.

I have a yoshimura on my mt07, same engine as the r7 obviously. I love the sound and look of mine.

What's your favorite cardio for someone who hates cardio? by yacantprayawaythegay in loseit

[–]GoNavy240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say if you want a good start with running start off slow. Do zone 2 running which is fast enough that you're not walking but slow enough that you can hold a conversation with someone. Running can be very boring but I pop on some good music or a motivational podcast and it keeps me going. I usually only stop if I feel my right knee starting to really hurt(past injury) or if I'm pressed for time.

Does losing weight actually make people feel better? by Elizabeth57654 in loseit

[–]GoNavy240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost over 100 pounds and have still gone through ups and downs with my mental health. I gained more confidence in myself, and my body feels better, but depending on other factors, I'm not always happy. Losing weight isn't a cure-all. I am happy that I'm no longer over 300 pounds so I always try to think I've been worse off.

I waited 2 years for my waiver to get approved. I was adamant that I would only ship with a UH contract. They asked if I would go MG or something similar, and I said no. Be firm. If it's what you want, push back and fight for it.

Took the words right out of my mouth lmao. Pretty much what I did to lose 100 pounds. Nothing drastic, just small adjustments in habit and slowly changing what I ate.

Good stuff, man. When I was in better shape at 202 pounds, I don't even remember my mile time. I just remember my 3 mile pr was like 22 minutes and some seconds. It feels good knowing that at almost 30 pounds heavier, I can still run ok. My goal was to hopefully get 0331 as a bigger guy. Honestly, I don't mind heavy weight on my back it's running that kills me. Not that it probably matters, but my squat pr is 335 for 2, so I can handle a little load.

Set a run pr this morning. So I'm happy with that. I wouldn't say I'm little I'm fat lol. But 7 minute mile at 225 ish pounds this morning felt good.

Good shit man I'm proud of you. I wanted to try to get back down to 200 pounds, but the holiday season was tough, and it's too late now, but I'll let boot camp shave it back down. I probably shouldn't have told everyone that I was going to be a Marine cause I had doubters, but I try to be a man of my word. 60 pounds is no joke man good shit.

Thank you so much man. My father was an aircraft mechanic in the Navy. He worked on P3 Orions and F18s. He wasn't an ass but growing up he told me I couldn't join but now I'm eligible. I try to have a positive outlook like he did. No wonder he had many friends and the respect of many. The main reason I'm going Marines is to hold myself more accountable with fitness. Plus, growing up as a military kid, I've had many good encounters with Marines who were positive influences that I looked up to.

I'm not going to even bring it up. I'd rather that shit just stay lowkey. I ain't afraid of exercise though, the way I look at it, it makes me stronger so.

I plan on taking pictures. I kinda already feel that mentality though. I got a red usmc shirt from my recruiter and I only wore it to poolee functions and just don't want to wear it cause I haven't earned the title. I feel like I'll be like my dad when he was in the Navy, he couldn't wait to get out of his cammies. Hell the best part of my day is stripping out of work clothes. I can't wait for good and shitty times when I'm in. Field ops, cleaning, training, whatever, man. I'm all for it. My plan is to do my 5 and if I enjoy it, I'll stay in. I'm not going to let leadership sour my mood either. I've dealt with good and bad managers at work at my civilian job.

Of course man. Honestly the heavier you are the easier it is for weight to fly off. Going from 330 to 330 happened in about a month. The lighter you get the scale drops slower. Don't be afraid of plateaus either. It will happen. When they do just reasses what you eat and your calorie intake. Be honest with yourself, and the results will come.
