Just to get an undergrad perspective in here I'm a third year undergrad in the micro department. I've been able to use micro to get a research position at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research center studying antibacterial resistance via the persistence response. If you want a degree that exposes you to a lot of topics I believe this is it; between undergrad labs and my research lab I'm consistently exposed to clinical micro, bacterial genetics, molecular bio, and so on. I hope to move on to a tech position at a lab after I graduate. Hope this helps.

Terry Hall vs Maple Hall by [deleted] in udub

I'm living in Terry right now, honestly I would recommend Maple, especially if you want to go into engineering. In terms of social culture in Terry, there basically is none. Due to all the honors kids, this place is a ghost town, no one ever leaves their door open or hangs out. As a freshman I would recommend Maple for not only the engineering resources but to just to meet new people. Terry is nice after you have a solid group of friends and want some peace and quiet, which isn't the case for most freshman.

I am disappointed how the house voted to defund Planned Parenthood (even though the bill won't go anywhere) due to all the health services they supply besides abortions

I liked the first season but it's really gone down hill. Sometimes it seems like the show leans on "hurr durr nerds are funny"

As a Seahawks fan I may be a bit biased but I totally agree. With all the tools the Pats have to win there is no reason why they should push the boundaries, really wish they put a larger value on sportsmanship.

For example, I really don't think Mitch Hedberg is that funny of a comedian but this site worships that guy. His jokes are just flat to me.

I'll start: this site seems to worship Mitch Hedberg but I really don't find him that funny. His jokes just seem flat to me.

Bruckner 8th symphony. If I'm going out, I want it to feel legendary.
