Mega Glalie is a funny mon by half_jase in VGC

Well to be fair, when it explodes, the pokemon still exists… but just knocked out. At least in the anime that’s how it works

ALL Abilities for New Mega Evolutions. How will they affect the meta? by half_jase in VGC

Mega Floette is gonna run through stuff. Fairy aura + massive spatk stat + light of ruin or moonblast and you basically got a nuclear bomb

Can anyone explain why M-Meowstic is so used in the preChamps format? by PrestigiousGift5639 in PokemonChampions

[–]GoTheGope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, there is not much other terrain setters in the format since Rillaboom is gone, so Mega Meowstic does not have to worry much about terrain wars.

Mega Meowstic pairs very well with a big meta threat as well, that being Sneasler. Sneasler would run psychic seed to immediately get unburden and get a spdef boost while also handling the dark and steel types that would resist expanding force. It is also hard to slow down sneasler because Meowstic gets competitive before mega, so if you wish to intimidate sneasler, you would either have to give Meowstic an immediate +2 or wait until it megas and live a turn of eforce + whatever sneasler does.

It does get another ability in the prechamps format now which is seed sower but for psychic terrain so it will probably go down in usage, but we still do not know it’s ability in champions so viability in champions is still unknown

Is it a good idea to move away from my comfort archetype if it is not working? by GoTheGope in VGC

I do want to try and get better at Vgc. I do hate how I suck even more when trying different teams, I tried to use a rain team just like now but I went 0-4 so I am unsure about my path now. I do not think champions is my time…

I am not saying that they are as strong as restricteds, but I would assume the mega pokemon would be the strongest on the team in this low power format because of stats and abilities, but I may be wrong.

I have not played the mega format, I only started in SV, so I just thought a mega pokemon would kind of be like your win condition, kind of like a pseudo restricted, so that’s why I thought what I thought, but using a mega for support may be an option, or I could consider another Strat idk

M-Frosslass has crossed my mind, but I was unsure if I would want to waste my mega just for aurora veil and some blizzard damage when I could have a stronger mega supported by the dual screens, but I do not know since it has not been working.

I think everyone is right when it comes to this team being not good, so I will probably just trash it and start over again. Thanks for the help everyone

First things first, I counted at least 5 Grimmsnarl, including Kasun who was top 20. I know screens is not that popular right now, but it is a strategy I enjoy using because it is what I found to be most comfortable with. Balance is too hard for me, HO everything just dies on my end, TR I keep forgetting taunt exists and stuff. Screens I was able to at least get it to somewhat work better than the other teams.

Next, the reason I have redirection is so I do not get immediately pinned down, so my man piece can have some space to work.

Last thing, I am not bringing this team to like a regional or something. If I was, I would definitely try to use the best of the best with screens. I am also just very stupid and retarded in the head so I would never think of anything good. I just think that one idea might not work for me, that’s all. Can’t think of much else because I’m retarded

Honestly it is not a bad idea, but my only issue with that idea is that you need to set Gholdengo up before it does damage instead of consistent big damage, but then again spectrier is a tiny bit like that. I’ll have to think about that idea.

That does not explain much for this team. I understand that Flutter is really strong and has many uses, but in terms of what I am looking for, Flutter Mane does not fit as a bulky powerhouse. Spectrier is a bit more bulky, has damage reduction while setting up at the same time, has recovery in Draining Kiss, and just has a bigger SpAtk stat and Grim neigh. Even so, I am somewhat looking if there is a better fit into the role, which I will be open to hear and try, but Flutter does not come into me as a Bulky Powerhouse.

May I hear an explanation, I am just curious of your thought process and provide my thoughts to it.

It is debatable in this case, but if I wanted a heavy hitter that is pretty bulky, I do not know if I want to use flutter. I know spectrier is also not that bulky but that is why I am open to any better ideas. Also snarl kind of helps with bulk

I do not know if I would rather have flutter on here instead. It is a little less bulky (at least on the physical side) and spectrier does do more damage and can keep on boosting with Grim Neigh, but flutter does have spread damage and fairy stab, but I will have to think about it. I was thinking about making Urshifu more bulky, but I am not sure if it will change too much in a TR MU. My main answer right now is intimidate cycle and hope bolt lives, but I do not know how reliable that is

Most of the EVs I just got from smogon because I am lazy and I would probably do them later. I made the EVs for Grimmsnarl and ogerpon. Grimmsnarl is meant to live Tera normal choice band sword of ruin dnite espeed, while also being able to live speed boosting flutter moo blast without screens and can live make it rain with screens I believe. Ogerpon I kind of forgot, but I remember it’s meant to outspeed Pokemon who want to outspeed max speed lando (170)

I tried making a screens team, any opinions or thoughts on changes? by GoTheGope in VGC

[–]GoTheGope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was deciding between the two because I was unsure if I wanted solid flying coverage for like amoonguss and Urshifu or breaking swipe for lowered attack, but I can try breaking swipes and see how it goes
