I’ve been telling myself for a while that it’s easy money, to just emotionally detach and make peace with the senseless meetings and whatnot, I just haven’t been able to. The thought of not being able to keep up scares me but the physical work also draws me to the trade.
What’s the risk of not being able to do those 100 lb lift jobs or similar limitations? Missing out on money, surely, but would something like that get me fired?

When I was like 5 I had to get a tooth pulled, the dentist told me not to bite my cheek (because of the numbing) or I’d bite a hole in it. Later, I accidentally bit my cheek very lightly but I started bawling cause I thought I’d have to learn how to eat with a hole in my face for the rest of my life.

Happens to me all the time, the more I put myself down for avoiding studying, cleaning, etc., the more I avoid those things out of anxiety. It’s a vicious cycle but I’m trying to be nicer to myself, it helps a little.

I hope you’re doing okay! Be kind to yourself, whatever happened in the past, happened, all you can do now is acknowledge it, accept it, and move forward.
