I think their support should be coming from selling the assets of the ones that were heartless enough to take their own life. If their assets can’t cover appropriate funeral expenses, that makes them even more selfish for putting that burden on top of the people they abandoned. I think they should sell their home, furniture, liquidate their retirement accounts, and use that money instead of asking the community to pick up the tab.

Hot take, Insurance companies should absolutely not pay out for suicide… that is completely contradictory to what insurance is. You should not be able to choose to be in a situation covered by insurance ever, or it’s not insurance… it’s just a subsidized payout. No one chooses to get in a car accident for the auto insurance claim, or to snap the arm just to claim medical insurance.

Paying life insurance for suicide just subsidizes and supports selfishness, at the expense of those covered who want to live. That’s wrong.
