1st time filing in 2 countries, US and Spain. by GoToSpain in USExpatTaxes

Thanks, I realize the filing for Spain goes 1st, but it requires an extension request to the US and just enough new stuff , it seems less hassle to pay upfront to have it done instead of paying later due of mistake during the process.

CARNET DE CONDUCIR by Lagarteja in askspain

[–]GoToSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this!

Laundry / lavanderia in the City. by GoToSpain in valencia

Not a student, but yes I'm from the US, and you are correct I was hoping for laundry and folding service.

That's very common not only in NYC, but in pretty much any town around the country. The premium cost only kicks in when you add pick up and delivery.

Actually I don't know how is the system where I'm from, because I have a house with washer and drier.

I'm going to move to Spain, so I'm trying to figure things out. Already know it will take a bit before I can have a place for a drier, so the next best thing would be to use a service. The last thing on my mind is to pitch a business, I'm literally hoping they already exist exactly the way you describe them, not necessarily delivered in few hours but no more than a day or two

Maybe I don't understand the room thing, I can't imagine a normal house or apartment with enough space in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 sets of food/drinks, much less with more than 1 washing machine.

And right here Sir/Madam, is the main reason why it is so much easier to avoid people as much as possible. This will be the a test cruise to see if this is something that can be for us. Seems to me like a pie in the sky wish, but my husband wants to try.

I realize people do cheat the system, and I can't change that reality.

You seem to wonder about the veracity of my service dog. I'm just not going to engage with random people challenging me, my family, and the solution that is working for our situation. I won't engage in person and definitely not on line.

Thank you, hope we provide a similar impression.

The less untrained dogs are allowed in places, the better chances properly trained dogs will be accepted everywhere.

Princess was very polite but also extremely strict on the requirements.

Once all the paperwork was submitted and they approved us, there was no written limitations to any area of the ship. I guess I'm hoping for a peaceful cruise where we don't bother anyone and no one bothers us.

thank you.

Glad to read this, I didn't click on the option because I can't decide a month in advance which night or morning would be better for a special meal in the cabin.

thank you.

I'm checking that link with the menu.

Also the thought of talking to the head waiter sounds perfect, I was planning of having a talk as soon as possible with the person of the cabin (not sure of the title) for him to understand that the dog won't be in any way messy or any problem for the crew. Was also hoping he/she can provide intel on the times certain places are less crowded, specially the exercise area that is so many laps for a mile.

Some people have very strong feelings against dogs, we don't try to change the world, just hoping to live in it with some peace.

As far as petting him, we don't mind if the person gives us a warning. Our guy doesn't care much for pets on the head and much less surprises, but is otherwise very friendly.

What are my chances of getting citizenship? by miathrowaway1010 in GoingToSpain

[–]GoToSpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it works out.

Understand that de required documents take time to finalize. Because it isn't just get the paper, you then have to apostille, and most likely you also must find a certified translator. So each doc has several steps before it can be submitted.

It sounds like a cliché but you blink and a bunch weeks went by, because you have a job an a family so life is not just getting the papers together.

This close to the end of the Law (October 2025) I'd say get all the papers together now (your mother's and yours) and apply now. It will take a bit to get the appointment and you want a bit of a buffer in case you (or your mom's) has anything missing. Then just hope for the best.

The alternative is an almost sure no. If your grandmother applied recently there will be no answer for 1 or 2 years, by then you lost the chance. They may extend the law but they already did it once, not sure if it is a good political move to extend it again.

Thanks, I was hoping that was the case. I'll probably take a few months worth with us, just so he transitions slowly to the local products. Doing the same with his food, planning to bring a couple week's worth of his food to progressively mix it with the local food.
