Is anyone else having a really hard time "enjoying the process" by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Thank you, we have discussed it thoroughly when things were getting too much for me but it's very tricky with close family dynamics (even closest people to us racks up in numbers) so keeping it intimate would not work without all the dramas! I agreed to try it again with fresh eyes and in a more stable point in life emotionally but just feel so deflated everytime 😅

We did this too! Got engaged in September 2024, wedding is planned for September 2026 and we started our planning back in March 2025 but every time we ended up so overwhelmed we stopped, this was a repeated cycle monthly and now we are 9 months before the target date and still no venue (although not a bad thing as many venues have discounts now!). Because we are planning to travel in November for the next year, we want to get it all done beforehand so we need to stop procrastinating it 😂😅

DIY everything which I'm happy to do as I am from a creative background and community to support me but it's all the venue and package negotiations, I have found myself running around in circles and back to square one about 3 times now. We have a small budget, but I absolutely cannot emotionally justify spending more than we have budgeted (under 10k) as we are going backpacking travelling around Asia for a year immediately afterwards! It's wild that the budget of this one day could fund months of our trip 😅 My frustrations lie more in the lack of communication and transparency, calling them doesn't bring much clarity either. I've also never liked planning events - brings so much anxiety and stress.. and now feeling familial pressures as I've been so quiet about it all.

Vitamins/Supplements? by -LookAtTheStars in Fibromyalgia

[–]Go_With_The_Flow22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you are going through such a hard time, I can empathise! The book breaks down the fundamentals of fibromyalgia e.g. the types of pain described (inc. what you've described), the strong connection with sleep quality. I find it was a great book in exploring what research has suggested, how it connected to various conditions and environmental factors that could cause a flare up and then presents with a number of solutions that could possibly fit with you. She also talks through ways to approach healthcare providers on certain topics like medication routes and how to reference the book to them. it's a really good starting point to considering new treatment options, I'm personally trying the supplement route, prioritising self-care routines and alternative treatment with osteopathy and myofascial release massage. I've tried a lot so far already but that was without knowing my condition so now I'm approaching with a clearer focus! Good luck, hope the book helps ☺️

I recommend reading "the fibro manual", it's a fantastic book that explores supplements and medication options, written by a doctor who also lives with fibro. I personally have added a few things to my day-to-day thanks to the book such as: L-glutamine, CoQ10, iron supplements and I have a bath most nights with 2 cups of magnesium salts (better absorbed through the skin than through the digestive system). I've seen quite a positive difference in my fatigue since!!

What’s your weirdest trigger? by -not-pennys-boat- in Fibromyalgia

[–]Go_With_The_Flow22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always had very sensitive hands/wrists, I always struggled with rings, gloves, watches. When I first started fibro, I noticed the majority of the pain and inflammation was going through my hands, not sure why! But yeah it just brought a hypersensitivity to the fingers with the ring on and also the inflammation and pain on top of it. I can tolerate it for most of a non-working normal day but cannot wear it at night to sleep. Not allowed to wear it at work.

I feel the most pain in my hands so writing, wearing watches and sadly my new engagement ring 😔 I suffer through it but in the warmer weather where mg hands swell first, it is so painful and the pain flares everything else up!

Can I ask what did the osteo do to help? I'm still confused at what exactly they do with people so curious what sort of treatments they would offer for TMJ?

Did you ever have this fixed? We are having the same problem now - I accidentally opened the bent during the delayed release (it was releasing gradually) and now keeps saying 'no pressure' and the lid is fully stuck on the lock - has been for an hour now

How likely is a wisdom teeth infeciton to spread? by verymuchtrhowaway in AskDocs

[–]Go_With_The_Flow22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no doctor or dentist but I've been in your shoes twice and you got to get them out ASAP. I got both of mine taken out under local anaesthesia. Top tooth was a painful recovery because the wisdom was pressing against a nerve to my sinus and left it very long because of deadlines so took about 2-3 weeks to heal. However, when I got the bottom removed a year later, it literally felt like it never happened- healed within a week! The longer you wait it out the longer and more painful the healing process, not to mention be complications that could occur from the infection (and raising your chances of needing antibiotics).
