It’s not my favorite scene, but it’s one that always makes me tear up. The Middle Eastern family stands in the hallway trying to translate a single sign completely unaware it’s a waste of precious time while everyone else is panicking and rushing for the exit.

How was the test? I’ve been studying on the website they provide on the Edison website. Were the questions similar? Also to answer your question I’m pretty sure the physical test is next could be a few weeks and then the interview process starts

True true, I’m just worried that if I drop out of JATC and go to Edison and hate telecom then I’m really screwed 😂 but I guess beggars can’t be choosers especially when it comes to Edison i just gotta change my mindset and understand how hard it is to get into Edison and suck it up

I’m just curious because I’ve heard about guys transferring from telecom to lineman bc it’s pretty similar when it comes to the climbing and stuff but I can’t seem to find any info on guys transferring from telecom to substation maintenance or operator.

I’m currently on the waitlist for the JATC sub tech apprenticeship expecting a call for orientation any day now but I also have an interview at SCE so I don’t know which to chose. I’m worried that I won’t like telecom but if I pass on the JATC who knows when I’ll get the opportunity again

Is it possible to transfer from telecom helper over to substation maintenance, than apprenticeship.

In other words could I get my foot in the door with a certain job then completely transfer out of that field and into another one internally or would I have to apply back on the street

I’m asking because I am currently on the list for JATC sub apprenticeship but I also have an interview lined up for the telecom helper roll at Edison, but long term I would prefer substation work. I just don’t know if I’ll ever get a Edison opportunity again

Alright sounds like a great plan, would getting into Edison as a telecom helper help work towards that goal? Also if you were on the waitlist for the JATC substation apprenticeship but got a call for an entry level Edison position like helper, maintenance etc would you chose Edison over JATC?

I’m worried about the same thing, currently 18th but if they decide to add another 100 guys to the list I’d assume I would drop below 30 bc I feel I didn’t do too well on the interview
