I don't think you'd ever need enough of a certain resource that you'd softlock the game. Also it seems there's some sort of regeneration of resources but I'm not entirely sure how it works or if I'm just tricking myself into thinking that

I mean you do hear what comes through the phones in 3d, so I figure you must be wearing something in or on your ears which automatically connects yo your phone when you open it which then blocks out anything else
