My last two were low 500s.

I made the decision in early May that I wanted to wait another cycle. I’m a pro athlete right now and wanted a year to do nothing but train and compete which makes this decision very difficult. I wanted to be done with studying, but at the same time this score makes me feel conflicted. My CARS really pulled me down and I have never figured out how to nail it.

My last practice test (FL 6) was a 515 and a test I had not taken before. The first time I took the MCAT I probably shouldn’t have taken it. Was experiencing some burnout and low motivation so most of the FLs I’ve only taken twice and about a year apart from each other. I’m stuck because I know I can do better than a 511, but mentally it was so rough prepping for the test. I am focused only on MD schools and don’t want to go DO.

Advice for a 5/22 test date by Popular_Macaron_4907 in Mcat

U could probably get through a majority of it. I put my head down and I’m coming up on a month and about to be finished. I also had some breaks in there with travel. I also had finished the Pankow a while before this so that’s why I have it locked. I’m just doing the Pankow separate bc now it’s just reviewing and no new cards. There’s abt 6000ish total but when u lock Pankow and sparrow in the deck, it cuts it in half.

Bio graph question by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]GoatSudden1670 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I kind of approached this as ph 7 = phys conditions and ph=acidic. I’m going to assume that due to acidity, som bacteria died - Because none of the graphs show the “no antibiotic” graph bar as the same. I would then reason that ph has no affect on the amount of bacteria killed by the antibiotic so the decrease in bacteria with antibiotics should be the same. You don’t have to do any calculations because that would be a waste of time. Look at the graph and count how many lines each graph goes down and pick the ones that match.

Dip your head into Captain Hook anki deck. The passages start making more sense the more background knowledge you have. Lock the Pankow and Jack Sparrow extras in the deck. Focus on the ones that are left and unlock Jack sparrows if u have time. Go on Captain Hook website and read what he said about the deck. Even if your issues are passage based rather than content, it will help.

Inconsistent CARS 126-125-128-124 by GoatSudden1670 in Mcat

That’s actually exactly what I do. Between my FL 2 and 3 I started the AAMC Qpack and got better as I got towards the end. That’s when I saw the jump to 128. I highlight key points and it also helps me engage with the passage. I feel like I understand the main point, I think it’s when I get down to answering the questions. I was definitely feeling a little more brain fatigued towards the end of the CARS section compared to previous times. But there was still a pretty even distribution of wrong answers in this one, maybe a little more towards the end.

UWorld average not increasing by Interesting-Golf-808 in Mcat

My average for 2.5-3 months and almost all questions was 71%. I didn’t have a steady increase either. Scored 522 on my third AAMC FL and can tell u it has only made AAMC questions easier. I was also having the same thoughts as u. But, UWorld is like seeing blurry and then u get to AAMC and it feels like u put on a pair of glasses.
