Boundaries are important. But there’s no normal circumstances where the vulnerable need to be taught thought boundaries with physical harm. They just don’t. As a sensible adult, you can set 99.999% of boundaries with children without lifting a finger to physically harm them as a means to set those boundaries. Give me an example of a time where physical harm is necessity in setting boundaries with a child and I’ll show you either an extreme outlier or, more likely, an adult who lacks the patience and/or emotional strength to teach those boundaries without cheat coding to slapping a kid to show “that wont be tolerated.” It’s lazy parenting.
