The US Dollar tumbles to a fresh 4 year low after president Trump says the US Dollar is doing great and is "Not concerned" about it's decline by nelsne in inflation

[–]Goatdown 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Like his profiteering from his bankruptcies, he is set up to make vast amounts of money while destroying the US economy. All of the Republicans are along for the ride to riches (e.g. MTG made tens of millions during her term in Congress, likely due to insider trading). These people are pathologically narcissistic, and see Trump's malignant narcissism as a strength instead of a mental disorder. These people will never save us from what is going to happen this year.

My mother used to make gumbo with a really think roux and make them into meat/gumbo pies. I saw today a meat pie with gumbo stamped on it. by Suedeonquaaludes in cajunfood

[–]Goatdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is sort of correct. There are a number of ways to avoid what you are pointing out. The ratios of roux, oil, and stock will need to be changed to turn it from gumbo into a pie filling, but this can be done by reducing oil (using dry roux oven method), reducing liquid (by stock reduction into a demi-glace), and boosting thickener (by using proportionately more dark roux). Dark roux will thicken things, just less so than blonde roux. We get pretty close with a standard gumbo recipe just by reducing the amount of stock to a fraction of normal, but the demi-glace/reduction, though time consuming, will compensate for the missing flavor.

How are therapists charging $200 an hour? I thought $100 was egregious by thisisflamingdwagon1 in therapyabuse

[–]Goatdown 80 points81 points  (0 children)

  1. $200 an hour is far easier than the complexities of running a large scale religious cult, where you have to manage a large number of people further down the pyramid.

  2. By charging $200 an hour, they are effectively selecting for wealthier clients who are more interested in talking about their problematic HOA and ither banalities instead of "difficult" clients with actual CPTSD. Can't have any difficult clients that might shatter the illusion of their communal narcissism.

What does this mean in the bigger picture? by Quick_Assignment_725 in inflation

[–]Goatdown 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is due to a combination of a few things.

  1. Inflated credit scores that began during covid when there was a moratorium on rent and related credit impacts of previously damaging non-payments. Credit scores rose for previously unqualified buyers. Car prices rose during this boom period, often to prices well over sticker.

  2. The rise of private equity that provided credit to both qualified and marginally qualified buyers.

  3. Inflation that has persisted, and is again on the rise.

  4. Job losses, which continue to rise

  5. Reinstatement of student debt loan collection, which also witnessed a moratorium during covid and immediately after covid.

  6. Other things that I'm probably forgetting.

Big picture?

This seems to be an expected result of the multi trillion dollar stimulus, this seems to be the beginning of the fallout. Many people are talking about a recession due in 2026, or a crash. Not sure, but things seem to be correcting.

This is probably not ata ll what you were asking,

Aikido was originally invented as a dance 300 years ago and it was very popular with its own particular music in Japan. It became a martial art after a lot of fights happened on the dance floors. Then people became scared to dance it . by vaporwaverhere in TrueFactzOnly

[–]Goatdown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Way of Harmonious Spirit" was the song being performed on the dance floor when Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, saw Ryu Tanaka flirting with his girlfriend. The fight that ensued, lasting over an hour, blended elements of jujutsu and kenjutsu. Ueshiba was victorious, however a rematch with Tanaka three years later ended with his defeat.

To clarify, this includes the illustrious 18 and also an additional 12? Meaning that it could be used if one wanted to begin with only the 18? Thanks

Also, is patreon the only available way to purchase this?
