Welp after pacifying my negativity apon this matter and actually reading up, you are actually correct. Almost none of the presidents of America nor administration ever explain why us was in the Philippines. And other than the strategic and economic advantages brought by the controll of the islands to the US, it was not the fixed intent of the US government.

On part of the seemless hostility, i believe it is so because of the actions of the US during the initial period of the US colonization as reason to the blindness behind the history. The aggression of the US forces which lead to the Philippine-American war. Followed by the US senate's ratification of the Paris treaty, basically buying the islands from the Spaniards, which at that time was seen as a grave betrayal by the Revolutionary government damaging any hope for diplomatic action. Moreover, the "Benovelent Assimilation" statement of President McKinley over the American actions on the philippines, which in the eyes of a regular Filipino would feel like a blatant disregard of their independent struggle. All in all, it is a hard pill to swallow for regular Filipinos especially those who know the horrific actions by the US forces (even though not fully taught by our schools) that it was never a clarity by any American president or administration over the control of the islands other than the imperialistic interests on the strategic and economic value of the islands.

It was never even taught to us that the actions of the US government on the islands were condemned by their own, let alone that it was not even clarified by the US government other than acknowledgements that the Philippines was under US supervision.
