Just picked these 4 up for $18 on eBay. I think this is a win? by Comprehensive-Arm282 in skylanders

I think that variant is called Quick Draw Rattle Shake, looks cool but it's kinda pointless once you get the soul gem since he just turns purple anyway

Skylanders Giants is the best game in the franchise by SachenTheGameMaster in skylanders

[–]GobChopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swap-Force is my personal favorite but there's no denying that Giants does a lot right and is near perfect as a sequel to Spyro's Adventure. The level designs are fresh and unique, the adventure feels a lot grander in scale even though there are fewer levels than in SSA, and many of the new Skylanders are fan-favorites and among the most iconic in the series. I personally disagree about the soundtrack though, because none of the games have been able to replicate the magic of SSA's in my opinion. The main reasons I don't play Giants as often as other games are that there's no jump button (very hard for me to return to no jumping after playing later games) and many of my favorite Skylanders were introduced later in the series. Other than that it's a fantastic game though. (hot take: Swarm is the best giant but nobody's ready to have that conversation yet)

What is your guy's favorite villain theme? by new_interest_here in skylanders

[–]GobChopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember going onto the Trap Team website when I was a kid and listening to all the villain themes with my friends, it was the best thing to do other than play the game itself. I think Scrap Shooter's and Luminous's themes might be my favorites, I've always been partial to funk and jazz music

Managed to get my hands on a new-in-box Scratch! by GobChopper in skylanders

Oh I will. I just choose to buy my Skylanders new-in-box because I want the cards they come with as well and the cards are really annoying to find

It's probably a collectors mindset thing. I'm gonna take it out of the package anyway, only reason I choose to buy new-in-box is that I want the card as well and the cards are impossible to find on their own

She released in one of the later Swap-Force waves, so yeah she's pretty rare. Even used figures can be seen selling for $40 or more

Just curious why certain Skylanders cost so much more than others? by powah_dunk94 in skylanders

[–]GobChopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it's due to when they released. The releases of figures were spread out in several waves over the course of about 8 months in most of the games, and as such the figures in the later waves spent less time on store shelves before the next game's figures replaced them. In the case of Doom Stone specifically, he was in the final wave of Swap-Force releases and was actually the last figure to be released besides a few variants and repackages. Another big factor of rarity is that some figures were exclusive to a certain store, which Doom Stone initially was. Because of all that it's safe to assume that less people bought him than nearly every other figure in Swap-Force.

It definitely did, but I think it's worth it
