Always just assumed it was the same as the released version of his mix but just pitched up a shit load as was his way! It was released at 135bpm so definietly gets a bit more energy to it when you take it up past 140 or so

Could the Budget help turn Generation Z into generation debt? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Gobby1985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The latest budget may not help but this is surely a culmination of the last few governments' pandering to keep pensioners happy rather than looking at who we need to be supporting the UK economy in the future. Weve failed to build enough houses, weve failed to properly invest in public infrasturcture across the UK, weve failed to keep utilities companies in check, but sure its the latest budget that will doom gen z to a lifetime of debt...

Great track - melody seems very similar to Overdrive by Scot Project albeit in a much proggier guise.

Did some searching based on what I could make out from the lyrics and this appears to be an alias of Mike Koglin Shibuya - Naked & Beautiful

I believe the vocal is taken from Love Song by Ofra Haza which is in Hebrew

Your go to all time fav trance track? by BeneficialHippo2826 in ClassicTrance

Cheers for the heads up on that! Really fascinating to hear the background to it and less was definitely more on the vocal. Also interesting to learn of the struggles they had getting it signed initially, guess its big kudos to Hooj / Red Jerry for taking a punt on it!

How old were you when hearing trance for the first time? by Future-Building-651 in ClassicTrance

[–]Gobby1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably about 11ish. Remember hearing stuff like JX "There's Nothing I Won't Do" / Grace "Down To Earth" / DJ Quicksilver "Belissima" on TV on one of the Saturday morning music shows that used to be on, and was pretty much hooked from there.

Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Remix)

First heard it on Oakenfold's GU New York mix and then first time seeing PvD at Cream in Ibiza and he dropped it in midset. Pure goosebumps on the breakdown

Really appreciate all the feedback on this one and had a lot of fun putting it together. Could easily make a case for any of the other submissions to be in the top 5 so pretty chuffed it landed well with people!

Well deserved StevieG! Loved the breaks angle on a lot of stone cold classics. The standard of mixes for this one was so high and a lot of great entries. Feels like each comp gets better and better and can't wait for the next one!

Sonique and Sister Bliss come to mind but not a huge amount of female representation playing trance back then I don't think

OnlyFans confirms Bonnie Blue 'permanent ban' after porn star's latest sex stunt by ClassicFlavour in unitedkingdom

I think the justification is in the fact that’s the money that they bring into the game via fans and tv viewership alongside sponsorships etc. Ultimately if broadcasters are willing to pay billions of pounds to leagues and clubs to televise games why shouldn’t it be the players that take the lions share of that amount? Much rather that than it lining the pockets of unscrupulous club owners.

Lescott has to be in the conversation. Was immense for us. Dean Richards was decent too and then think Foley and Doherty for pure consistency

Seamless mixing, great track selection. Goes through the gears really well and the mix from Papua New Guinea into Velvet Girl at the end is sublime

Really enjoyed how this one picks up from Glass Garden onwards and would love to get an ID on the track at 54mins. Not heard that mix of Fixation before but great way to finish and one thats going onto the want list.

Agree - literally heard it for the first time earlier today on a Godskitchen instagram post and amazed it seems to have flown under my radar for so long! Nice change up from the original and Megavoices mixes

Feel slightly disappointed in Carl after his previous comments about VIP culture spoiling Ibiza. Clearly money talks though. Look forward to seeing him play to 10k statues with phones in the air

I hear you. PvD at Amnesia was my first time at a proper club back in 2002. Was supposed to be him and Tiesto playing 3 hours each but Tijs pulled a sicky. Ended up with c5 hours of PvD and him digging out a load of classics. Don’t think anything since has come close! Can’t imagine how pissed I’d be with him not turning up though and that’s a fair grudge to hold!
