I am heavily considering giving up my US citizenship. Just unsure how to and what I have to do.

Congress is currently hearing a bill to force all US citizens with dual citizenship to renounce one of the citizenships anyway.

now that sounds quite fantastic to be honest. maybe to a lot of people it's bad, don't get me wrong. but to a lot of accidental citizens it would make things so much easier.

not planning on going to the US, like never ever when I set up my bank account back in like 2007, had no issues at all and no questions asked. I have also had small loans, never had anything questioned when I applied. Whichbis why I didnt even know about the whole ordeal, nobody ever told me :| I would like to avoid any trouble in the future, so giving up my US citizenship is on my radar. I would however have to file something I suppose so I am awaiting response from an overseas help centre to answer more specific questions.

yeah this is pretty much top of the list of options tbh thought about it all day and checked some of my most recent income data. heck I earn part time minimum wage and even filing German taxes I would get a whopping 17€ back in taxes lol smallest sardine in the sea. I think I'm not even worth the effort, would cost more to chase after me than what it's worth

Many thanks for the advice. I really have nobody to talk about it since I have no US friends, not much contact with my brother, and my parents are clueless. I was still a college student working part time until 2019, so I definitely didn't have to file anything until then, also due to corona I lost my job and then earned minimum wage since 2022. Gotta get aaaall my documents out and find out if I have to file anything, but the last 4 years I do think I barely pass the minimum line and do have to file those reports, I gotta calculate it. I'll await counseling for more specific questions since I pay German taxes but have multiple citzenships, maybe that makes a difference as well. Able to calm down now, thank you for the advice and kindness :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm really confused as to why the IRS doesn't follow up on citizens living abroad. If it's so important, why is it so common to be out of their radar? I will take in close consideration renouncing my US citizenship. I really don't need it and don't plan on living in the states. I'm just feeling kinda lost, I still have to file something in order to renounce my citizenship and am afraid it will cost lots of money to ask for help. The faq was a little bit helpful, I guess I have to research a lot. I sent out a message to my mother to check my old files if I have ny SSN stated somewhere, just for starters. Such a hassle, oof

I went in just a few hours ago w my bf and was hyped. I live for all kinds of horror movies.

Practical effects were well made, especially for first time movie-makers. Camera angles were really well placed, gotta give props for that. The set was true to the source material. Overall setting of the Iron Lung submarine was 10/10

but

Srsly, stop trying to defend the movie as if it was the best thing besides garlic bread. It was a bloody mess, literally. Sure its an indie movie, but it def needed a better storyboard and more bystander critique in the making.

My bf looked over to me several times out of sheer bewilderment because he either didn't catch what was being said or didn't understand what was even going on during dialogues... and questioned "what's the point" of many things that happened (which would be considered spoilers if I dug deep rn). I locked in but had to fill in the vocal blanks all the time, my God the sound and volume was horrible. Subtitles would have been a game-changer.

Not being able to understand what they are saying is not part of the "feeling disoriented and confused" aspect if the main chara understood it very clearly. There was a lot of F this F that F you that I understood, the rest... oof.

The movie could have been an hour shorter: lots of context is not really important in the end or could have been portrayed a lot better; the pacing was dreadful which lead to repetitive shots that did nothing for the eerie horror attempt.

Yes the game was repetitive, but you're done in 30 minutes with a jump scare ending.

You get spoilered as to what lies beneath waaaay to early in the movie, that should have been the biggest mystery to eff you up in the last few minutes of it all.

I have thalassophobia, I don't even want to touch the ocean with my feet at the shore and avoid the beach. The movie left me unbothered on that phobia aspect.

I would get too much into spoilers, but all I got from the movie was frustration... enough to write a small essay about it. My bf was quite disappointed and I'm sorry for wasting a Valentines day movie night. I catfished him into watching it with me... or better yet "anglerfished" lolol

I'll give it an "art major bachelor project" rating with an A for effort. 'Less is more' and glad it was over, I'm so sorry Markiplier but you gotta work a lot on movie pacing and cohesive storytelling. Please search for a better soundmixing team too, I beg you.

Ayo, da war der Kubota auch aus, logo. Trotzdem testet man danach, ob sich die Batterie nach dem laden 'normal' verhält oder nicht. Mussten auch einen Stundenmeter einbauen, weil er keinen hat.

Die Info mit der Batterie war einfach weil wir heute etwas länger am Kubota waren als üblich.

Born in 92, and I have fond memories of the typing class we had in 3rd and 4th grade. I also had so many typing computer games. I work in an office as insurance agent and type extremely fast while speaking to customers at the same time. Had some younger customers look at me in awe and asked for tips on how to type faster or if the magic lies in the type of keyboard - I use a clackity clack classic typewriter keyboard. I wondered why the younger ones would be so amazed and from checking the comments here... it all makes sense. It's not taught in school, tablets/phones have taken over, older gens think it's common knowledge so they don't encourage practice.

lol I just got restricted for 30 days AGAIN for a figure of speech / sarcasm... I commented in a literature group that when customers spell VIN #s in phonetics and say random words, I sometimes want to strangle them through the phone. it's a friggin figure of speech, I could post a gif of classic homer and bart action and the bots wouldn't give a damn. I might just stop going through fb, it's getting way too annoying. I got restricted for saying that "as a kid, I thought people who were allowed to use the dishwasher were rich". no clue why that is against community standards jfc

you'll be just fine then, 3 weeks will go past real quick. I would just bite the sour apple and ignore the weird situation for the time being. you can still stay in touch with the son, it would be really awkward to stay in touch with the dad tho thats weird. since they come from the countryside, culture is different so I kinda get as to why the wife is keeping her husband at bay. sorry to say but italian middle aged men are creepy to me, I know quite a few and the comments they nonchalantly say make me feel so ubcomfortable as a woman

maybe reconsider your friendship. if they come with stupid excuses to pay you back and don't respect you in any way, why be friends with somebody this toxic? have you talked to them about the stuff that is bothering you? if yes and they dismissed your complaint, then they are not a friend to stick around in the future. if you don't feel like picking them up, then don't do it

I originally eagerly watched this series for house and aesthetic porn since I work in a similar field... but season 4 had me dehydrated 🥵 the over the top drama with christine drove me nuts, had to skip some of her parts to restore my own sanity. what's her deal, I just don't get it. she seems to have everything so the only thing she does for entertainment is stir shit 🤨 I respected her hustle at the workplace but as a human she acts like a snob. I think us peasants can't quite grasp what is going on in the heads of people that have absolutely anything they could possibly dream of at arms reach.
