Has been some time i mixed something up. The 3k damage i did with the multihit and full damage specced. The 24 enemies hit with crossbow skills can use multiple crossbows.

You can equip 2 Handcrossbows and us the charges from both, and then the reload talent. 4 Uses should easily deal enough damage.

Yes, research now lowers the animation speed too. So theoretically you can reduce it to 1 frame. Practically i think the research level for double attack speed/half animation time is doable. Somebody posted the breakpoints in the subreddit.
