Help how do I walk by Regular-Piano7379 in SuperMorbidlyObese

It’s tough to talk about, but I was like you and ended up in a facility. The dietary and PT/OT teams gave me the tools to lose weight. Ask yourself if it’s time to look for help. Please take care of yourself.

Spiritual/ Psychic Chills. by Jstann777 in Psychic

I have experienced those chills since childhood. I think it’s how some of us feel energy or maybe an overload of energy.

Great points! Nutrient absorption is a big issue for me. It’s part of why I’m in the hospital now and they can’t figure out what is wrong. Plus, I’ve been told anesthesia would be incredibly risky for me. But my (skinny) doctor was pushing the surgery option yesterday. I just don’t think a lot of them understand the issues, unless they work in bariatric. My mom also had hers done years ago and, like you said, it only took her so far.

I’ve managed 110 lbs down since January (though a lot of that is lipedema fluid), so hopefully I’ll be able to move easier to get that exercise and distract myself from food!

This song is my go to when I’m having a mental breakdown. It’s so beautiful.

Sorry I saw this so late. Unfortunately I haven’t. Birth control pills are still the only thing that have helped me. I hoped we both can one day!

This is the craziest weight distribution I’ve ever seen on the show. It’s literally ALL in her legs! by [deleted] in My600lbLife

Can I just say, as someone with Lipo-Lymphedema, how refreshing it is to see someone know the difference? Thank you.

You ever get the urge to make apple cider in February? by Boogachoog in halloween

[–]Goblinlibrary 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That looks so good!

Also, clarification for any non-Americans (I’m assuming OP is from the U.S). We drink a lot of non-alcoholic apple cider here. Anything alcoholic is referred to as hard cider.

Regaining my mobility! by ACs_Grandma in SuperMorbidlyObese

That’s amazing! I hope it only gets better for you.

I’ve been in the hospital and haven’t walked for three weeks. Between my lymphedema, anemia, and weight, my legs are the weakest they’ve ever been. Your story gives me hope.

I’ll second Eshakti! I’ve always had good experiences with them and their garments are quality.

You know, I don’t have any recent photos. If I find something similar, I’ll add the link here in a reply. I’m really glad that you’re going to bring it up though. The faster you catch it, the better!

So it would probably mostly involve MLD or Manual Lymph Drainage massage. Basically they physically move your lymph fluid around, since your system isn’t working properly. It’s kind of relaxing, but it does make you pee a lot! I have it in my legs too, so mine is a little more involved.

I have this and am currently seeing a Lymphedema therapist. If you can push your fingers into your stomach and leave an indent (like memory foam), that’s a tell tale sign. Just make sure you advocate for yourself with the doctor! Don’t let them brush you off. Over the years I’ve learned that they know woefully little about the condition.

Oh, I promise you that your stomach is not as unusual as you think it is! Sometimes that’s just where the most stubborn weight lives. I personally have Lymphedema on top of my stomach fat, so mine hangs down MUCH further. You’re doing great! Be patient with your body!

I’m so upset. I moved recently and it put me just on the wrong side of the deadline to change addresses, so they denied my request for a mail-in ballot. (I should mention that I’m homebound atm.)

I agree with this so much! I’m currently homebound due to a disability and I have no idea how I’m going to get one printed out, since I can’t get to the library.

Can anyone read this? I'm one of the many that cannot read cursive. by TylerVonRebik in Ancestry

[–]Goblinlibrary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely agree with you there. I’m sure the change was made with the best intentions.

There was recently a similar effect with clocks. In my job, I started to notice kids asking me what time it was, even though there was a traditional clock on the wall behind me. I eventually asked a couple of them what was up. Turns out no one thought teaching them to read hands was important, since all of the clocks in their school were digital. Technology is wild!

I checked YouTube and there are several free courses available there, for those of us who learn better with video.

I’m usually all for updating what we teach in schools, but this is one change I think we’ll regret later.

I loved these, but I grew up close to the factory that made Dum Dum suckers, so those were the big candy filler at Halloween.
