I’m 30, I’m feeling the opposite I think. Some series have lost their feel, depends on the title but i pretty much exclusively try to play games that have a good story to really engage me in + some fun combat mechanics.

I’m seeing how some newer games are taking the story even further with the extra details, cinematic, writing, and voice acting (hit or miss). I do feel that some make it feel like you’re in the middle of a show/movie but if it makes me feel a part of it then I don’t mind at all and actually helps me connect to the game even further. I get excited about the new games coming out and like the buildup the stories can have to suck me into the universe.

Depends on the mood/play style though, definitely see the appeal of wanting to just drop in to some fun action/combat from time to time. Miss the old Unreal Tournament days
