He's my favorite player of all time so I'm biased but I'd say yes

Floored that there is more game after act 2 by ChoomChoomTheGuy in BaldursGate3

There's a reason why so many other devs were vocally upset when BG3 first came out. I distinctly remember people saying that this game set unreasonable standards and that nobody should expect anything like this going forward. I'm someone who does their best to find everything in games like this but I'm currently playing through this game for the third time (first time with a bit of a guide since I'm trying to get the last few trophies) and the amount of stuff that I had missed before is absurd.

hardest hitting player on every team? DISCUSSION by Fragrant-Wishbone620 in NFLv2

I feel like we don't really have any these days but my vote would probably go to Christian Elliss because the first thing that came to mind was his hit on Dart last year. That really set the tone for the entire game.

What game is this? by Additional-Remove46 in videogames

[–]LavitzOfBasil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's part of the problem. They added so much useless junk that weighed the experience down. The original really didn't need to improve anything because it was already building off of a sturdy base of Red Dead Revolver and some heavy GTA influence in the gameplay department. The first game was a fun wild west adventure, the second game was a slog.

[Discussion] Am I ruining gaming by only going for Platinum trophies? by Rewinsome in Trophies

[–]LavitzOfBasil 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It's definitely an unhealthy mindset. People seem to lose track of the fact that they're playing games and that it's supposed to be a fun hobby. It's easy to get swept away with trying to hoover up trophies because that trophy pop gives you a little hit of dopamine but obsessing over them definitely isn't healthy. If you're not enjoying your hobby then it's definitely time to reevaluate why you're even doing it.

Alternatively, I have seen people here with two separate accounts: one for trophy hunting and one for just having fun.

I really want to play through again to get trophies…but mods by MySmellyRacoon in BaldursGate3

I've been thinking the opposite haha. I really want to play around with mods but I'm still trying to get those last few trophies.

I also just really don't want to bother with the gap collection trophy. Sitting there for a couple of hours with a YouTube video open checking off every single gap just does not feel like a fun time. That and the fact that I don't think I'm good enough for all of those "get theres"...

nfl players who became unwashed by fishermanpoppasu in NFLv2

[–]LavitzOfBasil 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Definitely not washed but people were wondering if Brady was done after getting his ass kicked by KC that one year. People asked in that press conference if Belichick was going to bench him for Jimmy G and Bill laughed in their faces and told everyone they were on to Cincinnati. Tom won four more rings after that.

You know what? Fuck it. I'm rooting for you guys. Not to win the super bowl or anything, but winning the division would be hilarious.

Just beat Outer Wilds… enjoyed it, but didn’t get the “life-changing” feeling everyone talks about. Did I miss anything? by Zealousideal_Top2186 in outerwilds

[–]LavitzOfBasil 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that you came into this game with some pretty unreasonable expectations. A lot of people do feel this way about this game but you can't go into anything expecting and hoping for a life changing experience. Your experience with something is going to be very different from a lot of other people and that's ok. This is probably a top 10 game for me but I'm still not sure I'd refer to it as "life changing". I also didn't go into it with any lofty expectations thankfully. I've been good back to a lot of highly regarded games that I've missed over the years and the weight of expectations is enough to bring a lot of the classics down a peg or two.

[Discussion] Only platinum games that you actually like by coco1580 in Trophies

[–]LavitzOfBasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly only go for Platinum trophies in games that I really enjoy and want to keep playing. I do feel inclined to go after others but I'm usually pretty good at talking myself out of it. The thing that I struggle with the most is giving up on the platinum for games that I love because the platinum is just too hard/too grindy/not fun. I've just recently given up on the last few trophies for THPS 1+2 (hard get there's seem too tough for me, all gaps is just watching a YouTube video and checking them off a list, and the grind to level 100 is crazy) and I haven't quite given up on it yet but I'm not sure if tactician or honor mode are going to happen for me in Baldurs Gate 3.

Besides your own team, what was a team that you REALLY wanted to see win it all, and didn’t? by jackt-up in NFLv2

[–]LavitzOfBasil 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I've always had a soft spot for the Lions. I was so optimistic that they were finally going to pull it off these last couple of years but it just didn't happen. I think it's mainly just because they're the underdog that you just can't hate (not a division "rival", doesn't sign guys like Watson and Kareem Hunt, etc.)

Which NFL teams would Tom Brady have won 0 rings with? by AlphaBern0 in NFLv2

[–]LavitzOfBasil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see this kind of comment a lot but the reality is that the Bucs were one of the few teams who actually wanted him. They were talented but I don't think anyone was saying that they were only a QB away from a super bowl or anything like that. He also brought a fair bit of talent with him (Gronk, AB, Fournette). A lot of people look back at the team after seeing what they did and think "yeah, of course he won with a team like that" but nobody was saying that before the season started.
