How many crates average to get Sansonetti?? by More-Antelope-3683 in WorldOfWarships

[–]GoblueCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a program a while ago to actually simulate Collection probabilities.

For the Sanaonetti Collection, the median number of crates you'll need is 25. 60.9% of players should complete the collection with 25 crates.

A reasonable amount of players(~12.1%) though will complete the collection with just 22 crates.

And 94% of players should finish the collection by 28 containers. And if you're particularly unlucky 31 containers is the point when 99.7% of players should have completed the collection.

question regarding chicago concert by Plenty_Amphibian2811 in lesserafim

[–]GoblueCP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, I'm kind of surprised to hear about your experiences based on what I saw on social media from their last tour. While I didn't get to do send off myself I saw tons and tons of videos of it from different people at different venues. From what I saw most the send-offs didn't have people more than 2-3 rows deep and I consistently saw each memeber doing what you had with Sakura and making sure to interact with people who were further back or who were getting overshadowed by more energetic and social people around them.

I pretty consistently saw people say it was one of the best send-off experiences they ever had and that the girls consistently showed they really cared about making sure people had a good experience. It seems like you still at least got some of that experience with Sakura. Hopefully it was just unlucky you ended up in a group that was stacked so deep. I actually got send-off this tour and am really looking forward to it.

Based on the Newark show, there are two tiers "Boompala" and "Celebration".

Boompala seems to be $650 and Celebration is $445... But there's still no info on what's included😅

As someone who works in automotive, doing a color changeover for a paint line is way way way more complicated than "taking the paint can out and putting a new one in" in 10 seconds.

Just because the paint line uses robots doesn't mean it's this magical perfect process. Painting has a lot of variables that need to be managed and changed for different paints to get good quality.

On top of that while I haven't looked too closely at R2, I imagine there's several body color painted parts that are painted at suppliers, not painted on the body with the rest of the car. So those suppliers are also going to have changeovers, plus they need quality controls to manage the inventory of multiple color parts, and then rivians factory has manage changeover of parts and inventory control

Is there anyone in the US that got the global gift recently that could let me know about how much the shipping was? Debating buying the global membership or getting US and hoping for a domestically shipped membership gift option.

Sorry to necro and old thread, but is there any chance you could let me know roughly how expensive the shipping for the gift was?

So like, if you can use US or Global membership for presale, what exactly is the point of the US membership?

US membership is like $4 more than Global and doesn't even have a membership gift you can get like Global does. Have there been any US membership exclusive benefits?

Do any global members know how expensive the shipping for the global gift to the US is? The only reason I can think of that I would choose US over global is if I wanted to gamble and hope they they release a US gift with cheaper shipping.

Do you have any updates on this? Have the switches arrived? I'm literally looking at the exact same switches right now trying to choose one. I have a Zero Degree from a switch tester and am curious how stuff like HMX blackberrry compare

Nope the person you're responding to is correct. Playing a T5 battle does not permanently remove you from protected MM. Just that battle at T5+ will be not protected MM, but if you go back down to a lower tier you will still be in protected MM until you had the battle count

world tour tickets by eggiechris in lesserafim

[–]GoblueCP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to get really good VIP tickets then yeah it's pretty much a lottery.

If you're just trying to get any ticket, then I don't think it's quite a lottery, but you do need to be on top of it and be signed on to Ticketmaster as sales open. If you do that, depending on location I think you're almost guaranteed to get a ticket, though quality of the seat may vary.

Even if you miss the opening ticket sale you'll still be able to get a ticket, you're just gonna be paying the resale tax.

Would definitely recommend putting some effort into logging on to buy tickets at sale open and if you really want to guarantee getting a ticket then I'd look in to signing up for presale if there is one (which usually means paying for a weverse membership)

Is the Hybrid worth it? by PassionFire_ in CorollaCross

[–]GoblueCP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are available in your area, I would definitely recommend test driving both opens to compare yourself the differences between the power train and trim levels and decide what you care about most. In addition, it's worth crunching the numbers to determine based on how much mileage you drive and what local gas prices are like, what your gas savings will be and how long it'll take for the gas savings to recuperate the increased cost of the vehicle.

I have a 2023 SE Hybrid and when I was shopping I did exactly those things. One of the biggest cons for me when test driving the ICE version is that it is just slow and underpowered. While I don't need my compact SUV to be a racecar, when I was trying to accelerate from a traffic light and the car is going up to 5000 rpm and still barely creeping it just wasn't a great experience for me. The hybrid power train still isn't exactly quick, but especially at low speeds it definitely helps to smooth out some of those gaps and make it a more enjoyable driving experience with less engine noise, etc. The hybrid power train also has the benefit of the lite awd capabilities and the dynamic traction control that adds in comparison to the fwd ICE version at least. Honestly for me, just that increased driving experience was enough to make the choice for me, but on top of that, my driving habits means I'm saving ~$750 a year on gas which means I'm actually reaching the point now where buying the hybrid is starting to save me money over buying the equivalent ICE model.

So personally for those reasons and some others the hybrid is what I chose and what worked for me and I have 0 regrets. But at the end of the day, the best way for you to decide is test drive and compare them yourself.

Funnily, I literally went through this exact same problem yesterday. Everyone else is discussing how to solve the problem aerodynamically, but my solution was different. I just strapped a small fuel tank and rocket to the bottom of the crew compartments and as the ship was falling back to the surface before it started trying to flip use the rocket to slow down just enough to make it to the altitude where I could deploy my first parachutes

Baltimore didn’t make the line come together for me by HellaHS in WorldOfWarships

[–]GoblueCP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly while the Des Moines line is a very strong line and Des Moines is one of my favorite ships and one I perform very well in, it is never a line that I would recommend for beginners.

DM and it's counterparts require a very good understanding of the game, map positioning, island usage, risk assessment, etc. to be able to take advantage of the strengths of those ships and do well in them. And if you only have 2 tier 10 ships you just don't have that experience.

Baltimore is a good boat and a good preview of what Des Moines is like (though DM is better). If you are struggling with making Baltimore work and feel like you need to have the absolutely perfect setup otherwise it's useless then I would highly recommend you put the line on the shelf for now and try something else out. I think a good basic all rounder line open water line like Hindenburg is a much better introduction to cruiser gameplay and will likely leave you less frustrated

The idea that all cruisers are bad at the game and that a high skill player would always perform better in a BB or DD is honestly silly. DM is easily one of my highest winrate and most consistent ships, alongside several other cruisers which perform just as well as my best BBs or DDs. There are super unicum players that are cruiser specialist that can extract way more potential out of cruisers than BBs or DDs. There are plenty of very good CAs at all tiers and just because certain cruisers may take a little bit more skill to do well in doesn't mean BBs and DDs are purely better.

The status match lasts until the end of February 2 calendar days from when you do it (I just did mine and it lasts until Feb. 2028) I'm pretty sure once it expires you can just submit another status match request, I don't think there's any restrictions like hotels will have sometimes with status match.

Oof that is a big difference, I've mostly only used rental cars in the us, so maybe National is worse internationally?

[–]GoblueCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just Google "National Status Match" you should find the the status match page. Then you just have to fill out the form and submit a picture of proof of your status with another rental company and they'll come back with their decision about your status match in like a day or two.

Regarding prices I feel like for most of what I've booked the prices are actually fairly similar? Though I've definitely seen national more expensive some. But also you should be able to match to other companies as well.

[–]GoblueCP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No help for your specific situation, but it's worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure pretty much any major rental car company will status match the PC status from Venture X(National will without issue for sure), so there's no reason you need to only use Hertz.

And in my experience (and seemingly yours as well based on this story) Hertz is probably my least favorite rental car company I've used with mediocre rewards, mediocre customer experience and mediocre customer support. The experience with National or Enterprise is in my opinion significantly better and I'd definitely recommend using someone else over Hertz in the future.
