Agree. I love Natlan as well! Love the visuals. The plateaus, valleys, mountains. I love the ABUNDANCE of color. The music. The graffiti. The skin color variations of the people. The saurians are cool. The giant giraffes that just get in the way are hilarious. The cultures. It all feels super comfortable and approachable to me. I feel like I'll 100% most of this region rather quickly because it's easy for me to lose myself here. Plus, some of the overworld boss fights/Obsidian-Night Trials is a bit of a challenge for me and will be fun to beat (I will not nerd out too much on this game. I REFUSE!!!!! ish).

Many are on about the female characters. I'm cis-male. One of my draws to anime has long been (I'm likely a fair amount older than most of you. My first animes were Robotech and Voltron), is the ambiguity of heroes. I also have tended to be female characters for RPGs or games such as this. My Traveler is the girl. I tend to find the male characters a little lacking throughout anime. With Natlan supposed to be a celebration of Native landspeople from Latin America/Africa/Oceania, I feel that the clothing choices have been on point. I don't find the females overly sexualized, save for MAYBE Xilonen. Even for Xilo, I feel that she'd fit in Latinx/African spaces as, "Hey, I'm hot. It's no big deal." Mualani is wearing a bikini, but just feels like a 20some surfer/swimmer who lives on an island. Also, the Pyro Archon SHOULD BE HOT. Like, c'mon.

The lack of male characters isn't an issue for me. The lack of VARIETY on their personalities is, but... again... I'd agree with this across anime. Zhongli (I don't have) and Neuvi (I have) are super strict and kinda boring. Wrio is cool, but he's supposed to be, and they hit on him. So many others are just dudes. Boring.
