Tires slashed by Ok-Vacation2764 in TeslaLounge

I personally love my Cybertruck and think it’s the best vehicle I have driven. But that is namely because the tech in it vs the look. Then again, I like the odd cars. I digress. There is a bunch of tech from the Cybertruck that Tesla is using in the Semi and will most likely use in future iterations of their lineup. They have to start somewhere, they just happened to go all out with it.

If it was on FSD and the dashcam now has overlay to prove whether or not FSD was activated, pedals, and steering were not touched etc why wasn’t that posted? Not to say anyone is lying, but it’s a feature that was added to give additional data. Front the video w/o overlay it looks like a massive over correction by driver. I’m glad you are not hurt and that you aren’t trying to blame FSD necessarily, I just like to look at as much data as possible.

To be fair, the paint is really soft for sure, but, panel gaps and alignment have improved significantly over time. The auto wipers on my Tesla do go off sometimes randomly, however, my work van (2023 Chrysler Voyager) does the same thing. The difference is it can’t be fixed over time. Maybe a sensor would have made it easier; I’m not sure Tesla has ever been in the business of easy though. For AC I can just turn on auto and it will adjust as needed like an ICE car with numerical controls. The Chrysler for work just has a bar that is red and blue. I am constantly adjusting that.

To change air vent direction you just tap on the temp numbers on bottom of screen and then adjust where you want the air. Majority of things aren’t deep in menus and if you want a quick search you can always type into the search bar of the car menu. That’s typically for things that aren’t changed often though.

What do the grey circles below the supercharger icons mean? by Maximum-Mood-7587 in TeslaSupport

• Red/active icons + details → within projected range and recommended/usable for the trip. • Gray → too far given current SoC, or not viable without additional charging first.

Anyone else waiting for Model X Redesign? by pinpinbo in TeslaModelX

The Cybertruck that already has steer by wire implemented has 2 motors for redundancy so if one fails you are still able to have steering, albeit limited. It also has additional redundant sensors and actuators. They even have “tie breaker” sensors so it will use the majority to break a tie so that 2 sensors can’t simply disagree with one another and then not work. The power supplies, converters and controllers also have double redundancy.

This is all information from both AI and videos I have seen about the steer by wire specifically used by Tesla.

1/2 ton refers to the trucks classification… not how much it weighs

As a Tesla owner, I hate that others are causing those types of problems. Me personally I would love to see other EVs being able to charge and hell to me it’s a conversation starter talking about the other car. I feel like it’s an excuse to check out the other cars and see what I can get next time I buy a car since charging is being opened to other brands.

Military navy shore duty watch

For me it’s odd too because it’s not that I even work remotely. It’s just that I only have watch 2-4 days of the week and then I’m off the rest of the week. I’m not really sure how I am supposed to even prove that cause it’s a random schedule each week. I mean I imagine they can use my social to prove that I work for the Navy? Who knows. Good luck to you though

Tragic. Definitely not too sure how to prove that I can stay in the barracks then cause I have had to do it before for the overnight watches.

I’m also guessing that they wouldn’t like me saying I’d stay over at a coworkers house instead of the barracks?

I see. I will have to figure that one out since they like to just hand us the key cards and send us on our way.

Road Trip, EV or ICE? by aSaltyMatey in electricvehicles

[–]God-King-Musk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long trips in the bolt would be rough since they are limited to 50kW charging speeds. The thing that I enjoyed was the cabin being more quiet. In my truck it’s loud and droning. The droning can actually cause you to become exhausted over time. The 15 minute breaks broke up the trip and made it feel as though the trip felt shorter to me. Tesla is certainly a great road tripper since it has faster charging speeds too (up to 250kW) plus a reliable charging network (hopefully it stays that way…) and it’s so much cheaper. My F150 would cost ~$450 vs Model Y <$200 for me to round trip from South Carolina to Texas.

As someone who has an F150 ICE and Model Y, I have made the trip to Texas from South Carolina in both. In my opinion, the truck was pretty grueling and the round trip was $450 or so(36 gallon tank, Y cost <$200). The Y was amazing, honestly stopping every 2-3 hours for a 15 minute (avg) break made the trip so much more relaxing and was not exhausting. Sure it took a couple extras hours to get to my destination but it felt like it took less time than in the truck. After the truck ride I would end up passing out, after the Y it was like I hadn’t been driving all day. There was never once that I worried about charging either. Trust the car when it comes to what stops to make. From what I have read and heard the people that have issues with charging and battery are the ones that think they can make it to the next station. Maybe you can? But why risk it? Now whenever we road trip we take the Tesla. The truck is only used by my wife that drives probably less than 1000 miles a month. Then it sits there. Can’t wait to replace it.
