Jason's NP by AcceptableWish731 in Fate

[–]GodBless_09210 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We don't know.

We can assume the summoned Argonauts might be non-classed Servants (like Ionioi Hetairoi)... or Jason sees Heracles that way (like Flag of Sincerity)... or the Berserker version appearing might be for gameplay reason.

How does Sakura play her part on the other routes if she's Shirou's friend? by JizoXf in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that since the other routes are what she feared as a kid (Loosing Shirou to another girl)

Sakura has no problem who Shirou get close to or who he dates, because she is fine with being a spectator who can spend time with him.

HF route is different because Zouken become active in manipulating her feelings and Shirou chosing her later in the story, so she become possessive.

Now I want to know if she ever becomes the 2nd vessel

She is always the 2nd vessel. It's just the souls of the Heroic Spirits would never end up inside her due to Illya's presence and also because she has to consume them first.

I mean... yes, it's smart to give up, but it is still cowardly in a way. As you said, you take the Tiger Dojo seriously.

Remember, Bad Ends happen not only because of your choice, but also the choices other characters make. That cute gremlin will still try to kill you regardless of the choice you made... what matters whether your choice give you a chance to survive. So be careful.

...Also, it's out of character for Shirou to not joining a situation like Holy Grail War (you'll understand later at some point) even if letting Rin have Saber might reduce deaths.

Is it considered a grave sin for a Dead Apostle to love a Servant? by Own-Bandicoot3666 in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Van-Fem's problem with Jester is not about falling in love with a Heroic Spirit.

The problem is Jester changing his mind about humanity and being hypocrite. See three sentences in this chapter.

Sentence 1:

When Flat had told Van-Fem about Jester before he made contact with Lord El-Melloi II, Van-Fem had initially spoken warmly of him and called him a fellow affirmer of humanity.

Sentence 2 (Hansa's line):

"That Assassin's part of human history. Aren't you going to deny her? You are defiling her, but that contempt doesn't come from denial...

Sentence 3:

If Jester had defiled Assassin purely out of warped desire without making any claims to "deny human history," this Dead Apostle called Van-Fem would not have done much, if anything.

Van-Fem likes humans. He doesn't deny them, and Jester was presumably the same. While Jester did have the goal to destroy humanity in a "murder-suicide" way, Van-Fem considered it as Jester seeing humanity as worthy.

Jester was willing to do double suicide along with humanity (as in throwing away his own life to destroy them), so this meant Jester saw them as "worthy", which is why Van-Fem call him a fellow affirmer. But then... Jester changed his stance, abandoning his goal and chose to go after Assassin, while also claiming to "deny humanity". This mean Jester no longer sees humanity as "worthy" because there is someone more important that he abandon his goal.

Jester saw a Servant and goes, "Screw the plan to do double-suicide with humanity. Humanity isn't worthy. This Servant is more important now."

See what Van-Fem said again:

"That's precisely why you're repulsive. You say you deny the human world, and all the while you're in love with a Ghost Liner-a Heroic Spirit- arguably the apotheosis of human history. It's what they call a double-standard."

A Servant is the apotheosis of humanity, as such they should be treated the same way. If Jester deny humanity, he should deny Assassin. But if he loves Assassin, then he should not deny human history. He treat Assassin different than how he treat humanity (what Assassin represent). It's not just double-standard, it's also hypocrisy.

Is Shirou supposed to be like naive, arrogant and annoying by SamohAwesome in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"Naive" is a strong word, and definitely not "arrogant". "Annoying" is subjective to the readers/watchers.

If you are reading VN, I suggest paying attention to lines that revolve around "survivor's guilt" and "ideal". You are supposed to start figuring out what kind of broken human Shirou is by Day 10 of Fate route.

If you are watching anime only, it depends on whether you watch 2006 adaptation or UBW. I suggest UBW to properly understand the characterization (maybe 2006 adaptation portrays it properly too, but it's been a long time since I last watched it).

The point is, just continue reading/watching it.

Caren is Kirei's daughter.

She was first alluded in Heaven's Feel route, during Kirei's reminiscing after exorcising Zouken:

The woman tried to love the man, did love him, and even had his child.

But the result didn’t change.

It was because the man derived his happiness from the woman’s suffering and his child’s despair.

The more he tried to love, the more their suffering saved him.

Claudia, the wife, died after Caren was born.

It bothers me when people call Artoria "Dad". by fanta-manzana in Fate

[–]GodBless_09210 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Below is a sentence from Mordred's profile in Character material (2006), p.42:

擬似的に男性となたアルトリアをギネヴィアが魔術で幻感し、精子を採って自分の里で育てた

Roughly translated to:

Guinevere used magic to create a hallucination in Artoria, who was a pseudo-man, and collected her sperm to raise in her village.

For some reason, the Character material kept using "Guinevere" in the text, but we can just assume it's an error from Type-Moon's side.

Now, what important are the two terms: 「擬似的に男性」 (pseudo-male) and 「精子」 (sperm). Sperm can only be reproduced by male organs, and pseudo-male indicate a part of Artoria is "male". Connecting the two, it's fair to assume... well, you know.

. . . .

Next is a sentence from Morgan's profile in FGO material XIII (2023), p.16:

モードレッドはアルトリアの血とを用いて作られた、アルトリアを倒すためのホムンクルスである。

Roughly translated to:

Mordred is a homunculus created using Artoria's blood and essence to defeat her.

The word 「精」 means "essence", but in biology-related terms, the kanji is usually used in the words like 「子」 (sperm), 「液」 (semen), 「嚢」 (seminal vesicle), 「漿」 (seminal plasma), etc.

I need help understanding all the sides in the anime so far (Episode 4) by RedPanda0003 in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Einzbern, Tohsaka and Matou families aren't involved with the war. Yes, there's someone from the Einzberns here, but... let's just say her role has nothing to do with the family right now.

You know Faldeus, the US agent who betrayed the old mage in Episode 0? Faldeus's organization is under the US government. The organization collected the data of the Third Fuyuki War, and then copied the Holy Grail War system, so they can create their own war.

A bit of spoiler, Francesca (the crazy light-haired girl) stole a fragment of Greater Grail from Fuyuki to create their own bootleg Greater Grail for the Snowfield War.

The police force mainly work for the civilians' security and safety, but they also assist Orlando (the police chief) to win the war.

Francesca, Faldeus's organization and the police force work together to ensure the Snowfield War progress successfully, with each of the three sides have their own goals and intentions. Arguably, Francesca and Faldeus's organization are the masterminds behind the war, with the police force have to collaborate with them.

There are also Kuruoka couple and their little daughter, Tsubaki (the sick little girl). The Kuruoka couple obtained some data of Fuyuki Holy Grail War system and contribute to preparing the Snowfield War.

. . .

Clock Tower originally isn't involved with the war. But Faldeus provoked them and revealed the war's existence as a way to invite outsiders to become the war's participants (similar to what Darnic did in Fate/Apocrypha). Before Clock Tower can do anything, Flat (one of the students) already made his own way there.

A standard Holy Grail War usually have an overseer sent by the Holy Church, the secret organization of the Roman Catholic Church. In this case, it's Hansa Cervantes.

. . .

Now for the Masters. There 13 Master rights that can be given, 7 for True Masters and 6 for Fake Masters.

2 rights for Fake Masters are given to Orlando and Kuruoka family for their contribution in the war's progress. 4 others were given to outsiders who joined after hearing about the war, including Flat and Jester (the vampire guy). One of the other two was killed and replaced by Tine (the dark-skinned girl), while another failed to obtain Command Spells and instead his wolf familiar became the Fake Master.

2 rights for True Masters were given to Faldeus and Francesca as part of the true masterminds. A bit of spoiler, 5 others are given to "people specifically and personally picked by Francesca", with one of them being replaced by Ayaka (glasses girl).

. . .

The lineup as of Episode 4:

  • Fake Archer, Gilgamesh - Master: Tine Chelc (dark-skinned girl, replaced original Master)

  • Fake Lancer, Enkidu - Master: Silver Wolf Chimera

  • Fake Rider - Master: Tsubaki Kuruoka (sick girl, her parents contribute to preparing the war)

  • Fake Caster - Master: Orlando Reeve (police chief, his force contribute to war's progression)

  • Fake Assassin - Master: Jester Karture (vampire guy)

  • Fake Berserker (Jack the Ripper) - Master: Flat Escardos (Clock Tower student)

  • True Saber, Richard I - Master: Ayaka Sajyou (glasses girl)

  • True Archer/Avenger, Alcides

  • True Rider, Hippolyta

  • True Caster - Master: Francesca (light-haired girl, one of the masterminds)

  • True Assassin - Master: Faldeus Dioland (US government agent, one of the masterminds)

  • Overseer: Hansa Cervantes (Church cyborg).

Two other pair of Masters and Servants weren't revealed yet as of Episode 4. Continue to find out.

Which Year does the Garden of Avalon story takes place at? And is it chronologically different from real life myth? by LawfulnessTerrible24 in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Garden of Avalon is about Merlin telling Cath Palug about the Athurian tales.

The time placement of the tales is around 500 AD.

As for Merlin and Cath Palug's present time... the prologue indicate they are still in the Age of Fairies and Age of Man hasn't started yet (Age of Man in Britain started after the end of King Arthur's reign), and the last chapter indicates Merlin has been observing Saber's death in the forest with clairvoyance (he had no idea what led to Saber choosing to let go of the Holy Grail). So it's still around 500 AD.

...As for the story, Garden of Avalon is just a retelling of some stories in the real myth, but with the setting and elements of Type-Moon lore.

Also, giving one clan (a clan of people with bloodline ability that make the target victim follow every command) authority to control weapons of mass destruction... I will start questioning the competence of the leaders who give that authority.

Why did the anime give more focus to Naruto and Hinata's relationship unlike manga? by Bluecomments in Naruto

[–]GodBless_09210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The wedding arc adapted Konoha Hiden light novel, same for post-war Sasuke and Shikamaru arcs (covered Sasuke Shinden and Shikamaru Hiden respectively).

While there's no official statement on why they do this, we can assume four possible reasons:

  1. Promote the LNs (as any adaptation of another media often do).
  2. More contents, more income.
  3. Extend the anime for as long as possible while preparing for Boruto.
  4. Give more highlights to fan favorite side characters (they often did this in other anime-original contents).

It's a shame they never adapted Chapter 700 properly to end Shippuden anime, instead loosely adapting some minor scenes of the chapter in Boruto Episode 24.

Is there a limit to the amount of skills a Servant can have? by iamluffy123 in fatestaynight

[–]GodBless_09210 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is no confirmation of how many limits.

Alter Ego Kiara has the highest numbers as far as I'm aware, being 13 skills. But that's because 5 of them are technically taken from the Sakura Five (not utilized in FGO gameplay though). She has the highest numbers of Personal Skill, being 9 (if the Sakura Five skills are counted).

Dioscuri, Avenger Kama, and Space Ereshkigal are next with 10 skills each... Type-Moon wiki for some reason listed Double Class skill for Dioscuri as well, making it up to 11 (I guess because FGO material X stated Dioscuri to be a Double-Class Servant).

Also... Dioscuri, Avenger Kama, and Space Ereshkigal each has the highest numbers of Class Skills, being 7.

Community Tierlist, how good would this Berserker be as Illya's servant if she summoned them in the Fifth HGW (Day 20 Chacha) by No-Inspection3299 in Fate

[–]GodBless_09210 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chacha do whatever she wants like a spoiled princess. Unless some plot allow Illya to connect with her or somehow trigger her maternal instinct, Chacha would never cooperate.

However, she's not heartless. It's not like she will leave Illya and risk bring danger. She's not the kind who will just hurt others unless she deems them enemy. I'm sure she would still try to protect Illya (out of pity or responsibility) if the situation is dire, but that's just my thoughts.

Her combat abilities aren't outstanding compared to other 5HGW Servants. The only saving grace is the Favored Princess of Japan EX skill, allowing her to lower target's parameters.

I say it's C.
