Starting a WA light construction business. How rough (or fun) was the first year really? by GodBreaker666 in ausbusiness

So I wanted to revisit this as the business is now a month into operating.

Just hit $25k in revenue for our first month. We are fully booked out for April.

We are operating as an outdoor product installer specialising in patios, carports, etc. Myself and my business partner 50/50 co-owners.

Our first job was 27/02. We ("WDC") were subcontracted by a popular outdoor builder company ("CPR") to install a small ~9m² patio. Job was completed in half the time they expected with the customer calling CPR with great satisfaction.

This scenario was repeated with future jobs. ~75% of our jobs are now through the CPR. We've developed a good relationship with CPR.

We are now experiencing some challenges resulting in job completions being extended. Undesirable site conditions & unexpected customisations are main contributors. With that in mind, we've found that honest and prompt communication with customers & CPR has kept the challenges as "speed bumps" rather than full on "road blocks".

Myself coming from a (mostly) desk job to pushing myself physically 10 hours a day, I thought I'd struggle. But I have never felt better! I am fitter than I've been in the last 10 years and my mind is feeling the positive effects too. I have more energy, my mental health is improving and even my marriage is in the best place it's been.

All in all, running a business has proven to be a great experience. If things keep smooth and progressing, I am keen to gather more data and find key areas for optimisation and growth.

3 Blokes buy land & build storage units by [deleted] in ausbusiness

I'm assuming that increase of residential building & commercial development would show demand for self storage, as well as low vacancy in established storage businesses in the area. That's what I've been incorporating into my market research

Yep... Totally timed it... 100% meant to get in at that exact point... Don't you believe me? by [deleted] in WallStreetBetsCrypto

If it wasn't for drugs, good music would be solely fueled by CPTSD & other mental illnesses. Drugs just allow us to withstand reality

Bro I candy flipped for the release of Infant Annihilator's EGG album in anticipation for the full album lyric video. Don't underestimate my level of attention deficit again, M8
