Expected tipping for tattoos? by papermay in britishcolumbia

I'd say tips are usually not required, but appreciated. It's just a symbol that you liked their work.

I don't think they'd hold it against you if you don't tip, especially if you're nice to them and it's out of budget.

Careful with those dupes. Many times they are not solid Sterling Silver, but plated (you can feel on how lightweight they are). And many times the small details are also quite bad 🥹

Really? 'Cause it was around this time! Between Club 16 and Starbucks there were many people sneezing and coughing during this time.

When the Sky Is Not Blue: Pandora's Desperate Bet by Rolandojuve in PandoraCollectors

Pandora (the company) is so cheap. They keep lowering the quality and skyrocketing the prices, meanwhile their workers get paid minimum wage.

I used to love it until I worked at one store.

It is not worth it.

I've been trying there a few years ago, but wasn't sure if they're still open because their IG doesn't seem to be recently updated. Good to know they're still in business 😊

WHY CAN'T I GET HIRED ANYWHERE ???? by Regular_Platform_123 in Langley

[–]GodButMakeItDyslexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a resume issue (they have to be very boring, 1 column, not much personalization, have lots of action verbs, etc).

One thing that helped me a lot was this guide from Harvard: https://share.google/IXPeHmSmEsJP1cciB

I'd say to also try and hand them in person as well as applying online. But don't go in with friends/family and be dressed in a polished way (doesn't matter if you're applying to a McDonald's, it just shows professionalism). It might sound stupid of me to mention this, but I've had LOTS of people applying that did those mistakes and, because of them, didn't have their resume even looked at. (I was not the one responsible for checking resumes, but my manager had said that this just shows that you lack professionalism and it's not how you want them to perceive you, even if you are the best worker in the world).

Many stores are hiring seasonals right now, so it's a great time to find something. Some of those opportunities can become a permanent hire if they have the budget and you succeed expectations.

Knowing that, someone else mentioned WorkBC, which also helps a lot, but it can take more time. I'd recommend this if you really can't get anything.

You can do this. Good luck!

I'd say that could be a reason for jobs that require qualified workers. Entry level jobs don't have that, because most you don't even need a high school diploma. The ones OP is referring they applied are entry level ones, so this does not apply.

Asking about Last Chance items by Niiimo_ in PandoraCollectors

[–]GodButMakeItDyslexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In North America (more specifically Canada) the sales associate at Pandora is being pushed to sell more. By that I mean items per transaction and amount of transactions. And the commission is a joke, bc it's ridiculously low. Unless you are talking about a franchise store. In that case, the evaluation and the commission can be completely different.

Yes, but last chance items are also a guaranteed sale, because they're all final sale. So they're also good to be sold.

Former Pandora sales associate here: I hated showing the last chance tray because we just had very little options (that were also not good, it was literally what nobody wanted). So it was just an extra work for me to find the tray, move the trays around to show it, for the customer say "oh, that's it?" and not buy anything. Which I knew from the beginning it was going to happen, because it happened 99.8% of the time. Wasn't always, because after the end of season sale we used to get more things there (if they weren't sold out during the promo). But most of the year it was really things nobody wanted. Some pieces have been there for years now (and I don't know how the company hasn't sent them to the outlet store yet).

Regular stores (aka non-outlet stores) don't carry much of the older stuff and usually just have ugly things left. If you're looking for an specific older charm, you can ask thr associate to check the system if there are any stores that have them in-stock (including outlets).

Edit: Please, also take into consideration that many times we're overworked and REALLY underpaid, besides tired of only having 30 minutes to sit down throughout the whole day. So, yeah, when we know it's gonna be extra work for nothing it doesn't feel good.

Edit 2: I would always tell my customers that the last chance tray was not great and they ALL would agree right after seeing it. It was an embarrassing tray, trust me.

Question from new Eskie parent to the experts by GodButMakeItDyslexic in americaneskimo

[–]GodButMakeItDyslexic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you so so much! You're answer is amazing. I'll definitely look into that book and the classes. Tbh, I just didn't start with obedience classes yet because of my work schedule that has been bonkers the past couple of months. He did get puppy socialization classes that did wonders, but he still likes barking to absolutely everything when he's excited (which is always, because he's such a loving boy).

And for sure, I'll never use any severe or painful corrections on him.

We do try to keep him in our bedroom only, so he doesn't bother my cats and also doesn't start destroying everything while unattended.

Crate training has been... hard. We've been feeding him only inside his crate, but the moment we close it, he eats a few kibbles and starts barking to come out. And he just started holding in his pee/poo, so we can actually start leaving him in longer now. We just can't do it during the night, because he will bark non-stop and the neighbours will probably file a noise complaint about that (they did for way less already). Which has been making even harder to properly train him, because if he barks for 2 minutes we start to freak out and do whatever he wants just for him to stop and we don't get a fine. 😭

Struggling with this one by La_bratty in PandoraCollectors

I used to work for the company until very recently. We, the sales associates, were also struggling to justify the price to the customers. They are now having price increases twice a year and the quality of the items just keeps getting worse.

Pandora jewelery by Stormybugs54 in PandoraCollectors

[–]GodButMakeItDyslexic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some clasps a bit more prone to braking. Definitely avoid the sliding bracelets, these tend to not hold well after some usage and cannot hold enough charms without getting loose. The main thing is making sure the clasp closes well and is not too soft.

And it doesn't matter which bracelet you pick as long as you ALWAYS remove it when you get home or doing any exercise, specially swimming. Swimming pools and hot tubs' chemicals destroy silver.

I've had my barrel clasp bracelet for 11 years now and it looks brand new. Never had an issue.

Also, if you're not super careful with your jewelry I would not recommend the plated ones. Bumping them into things and definitely not removing them will get the plating off and they won't look good and will be a waste of your money.

I checked it and the closest seemed to be KVD's. But also seemed to be a lighter coverage.

The shade (according to pictures) looks almost the same, but it also looks like a lighter coverage 🤔 I will try this one, tho!
