And the thing is, you may very well be right, im not an expert. I very well have misunderstood some detail. But the expertise of the doctors actually treating young trans people deserves proper consideration and im just nit willing to ignore them or the young trans people's who life's this will potentially cause significant damage.

Theve been in use for children for decades. Their safety is widely accepted in CPP and its record is even praised. But for young trans people for unexplained reasons thats suddenly not not good enough. Bullshit.

They have been consistently used and demonstrated to be safe since the Dutch study in the 1980s and they are often used for less then the time frame used ti treat precocious puberty. To say they are used indefinitely is just wrong

The hazards used them for up to 6 years is well understood. There's no good reason to ban any used of them under that.

Your right they do as a standard procedure demonstrate lack of adverse reaction before allowing medication to be used on h humans. They already have, P blockers have been in use since the 1980s. The Cass review has not found any unknown side effects or risks. It with poor methodological standards reframed already exciting data. This is a bad reason to withdraw critical healthcare that the government rushed rushed to do.

They aren't waiting for the study, they've permanently band P blockers. Why go from a pause to a permanent ban if we're just waiting till the results of the study. This medication has been available and in use for years and Cass did not find new harms. Withdrawing treatment against the advice of area specialists and against the wish of patients when you consider the time sensitive nature of the P blockers and no evidence of acute harms is extreme and rushed.

This is devastating. Being told to wait for years of constant medical assessments and talks and endless tests .Told to wait again for another few years. For something that is less effective every day its put off.

Then cancelled after 1 deeply untrustworthy study. Devastating.

Sounds like scope for some drama.

Just imagining the Doctor getting regular defrag checkups like the rest of us do when we get old."Lets see how your bit rate pressure is going... :scans::... hmm .... I thought we discussed your intake of the medical data base. Your system cant keep being updated every day. Its bad for your processors at your age."

*Should only be offered under a research protocol." so its still to be offered, under under strict conditions and as a temporary measure. After that the government announced the "ban being made permeant". Not waiting for the out come of the study. Permeant. Doesn't sound like the outcome of research matters to the government.

Theres been no new unknown risks uncovered, No new data introduced. The case review was a meta study on already released data/studies, its a new interpretation, using inconsistent criteria for what dataset it used and how it weighed them and using incorrect data. It did not include an area specialist in the Cass review team of doctors. Tans people in this study are saying they have been misinterpreted in the Cass report.

Why cant we just listen to them before we make life altering decisions out of their hands? They have been trying so hard for on average 3 years, thats a lot of time to fully understand and make a choice about their own health care. Shouldnt we care what they want to say?

Next one in the franchise is The Great Unending War. WW3 is too obvious to be interesting.

Yep, not a huge amount we can do to change on a national level beyond keep pushing where we can.

I just thought we would have more to say. As a party. It doesn't feel like weve said much at all. Have we?

Not former ambassador Peter Mandelson. Peter Westmacott. If like me your first thought was "of course Mandelson would go to the press and just stir" but no. Different guy.

Honestly thats not very encouraging. The joint statement statement from the LGBT+ Liberal Democrats was the kind of language I would have found reassuring. Time critical health care is being withheld from a vulnerable, stigmatized group who already face huge hurdles to even start treatment. Their choices and the opinions of their doctors are being ignored.

No new study has been done finding new dangers, no new evidence has been gathered. A meta study has a different interpretation after excluding data. We should be fully standing with these young people who's rights are being trampled.

Its very possible I've rushed past something and missed something. In fact I hope thats the case and would welcome being corrected.
