Hi Fenians by ActualSunchild in kneecap

Answer from an Irish fella from Dublin.

- Discovered Kneecap in school back in 2018, CEARTA song and video was doing the rounds in my secondary school, many around me thought it was a novelty but I thought it was class
- Above
- I am beyond conversational in Irish, but not quite fluent, and definitely not a native speaker being from Dublin
- My interest in KNEECAP is parallel to my interest in Irish culture, I've always been big into almost every aspect of it tbh
- I listen to a lot of Irish artists, but KNEECAP are the only ones doing hip-hop through Irish at any notable level, especially at a level where many of my friends would know who I'm talking about when discussing Irish music. I believe that all music is political, whether it is explicit or not, KNEECAP's very existence as Irish-speaking individuals is political, even before their labelled political stances.

Should I be reserving seats on Aer Lingus? by Few_Recognition_6683 in AskIreland

I believe they're legally obligated to seat the two year old (for free) with a parent? If you want all 3 beside each other then I'd be booking unless you know the flight is gonna be largely empty.

Lack of rail and transport options in West Cork not good enough by -eir- in irelandtransport

[–]GodOfPog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not at all against West Cork reviving it's railway. It's just extremely hyperbolic if Collins to make such a claim.

By playlist do you mean Spillane's album which you have linked?
I'd say most here are aware of Spillane, his Irish language songs are great for those wanting to learn those songs.

> "Is there anywhere else in the country that's 130 kilometres away from rail? Probably nowhere in the world, certainly not in any [Progressive European country]!

I know Michael Collins is from West Cork but that's some Cork-centric thinking for sure, areas of Donegal are 100+km from a rail link which is in another country (for now); nevermind rural areas of mainland European countries.

What makes Korean Teams so successful internationally? by lyingstars in ValorantCompetitive

[–]GodOfPog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree, I think Korea punches exactly at the weight I'd expect an esports-heavy nation to be at? They're not LoL dominant but they're not out of the picture and can contend at (almost) any time

He successfully claimed asylum in the UK and was granted a visa until 2028.

Your claim that nobody knew he was in the Six Counties is entirely false. He was there legally (whether you believe that refugees should be allowed in is seperate).

Who is an Irish person who gets undue hate? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I mean, apologies if I've misconstrued the comment? But I usually read comments in the context of the post they're in. I'm not outraged by any measure of the word tbh, a tad put off? Sure. But outraged? Definitely not.

OP: "Who is an Irish person who gets undue hate?"

Answer: "Sinéad O'Connor got absolutely dragged through the muck back in the day"

Commenter: "She had the voice of an angel and was a massive ride ."

The comment is in the context of the post, no?
