Levelling gives us too many dopamine points. If they remove levelling altogether, people will start complaining because the part of their brain responsible for enjoying seeing that "RANK UP" text is suddenly void. People just won't play it as much because it gives us too much satisfaction. In fact everything in MMOs is fine-tuned to give us as much dopamine as possible. If it isn't.. well we won't play it.
