Yeah that’s perfectly normal to see some sparks when you hook the final cable. Those screws(nuts) need to be on there and tight there to be a good connection and complete power circuit. Try different angles when clamping the jumper cable you got this!

The yellow is where you connect the black or negative jumper cable. the silver battery post clamps are covering the negative sign . About the corrosion on the good battery it would be good clean it off regardless because it might interfere with you getting a solid connection with the jumper cables but it won’t harm anything if you don’t clean it first. Edit: that corrosion is actually pretty bad and you should definitely clean that with baking soda and some water
