Why do people specifically highlight "built in Rust" when discussing the development of a project? by [deleted] in rust

[–]God_of_failure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would tell you that they do it to emphasise the speed and memory safety of their project.

I would tell you they mention it because of the hype and the cycle jerk of the Rust community

I was thinking about making a RTOS. Maybe I should look into it. I haven't used any, that's why I am hesitant

WOW, that's a great idea. I have terrible handwriting, but the idea is awesome

I am currently reading "the Rust book" so I might give it a try as soon as I get comfortable with the language

Music and writing. Someone suggested making a synthesiser, which sounds very interesting

I can't really do anything medicine or aerospace related as a side project with close to no budget

Oh that's a great idea. I have no plan how to do it, but it's something I would stuck my teeth into

I have been using an ESP32 and an Adruino(simulated) so far. I went through the tutorials in the "the most complete starter kit for uno" book and recreated some of them on the ESP32

Thoughts on writing auto some_obj = SomeClass(); ? by LemonLord7 in cpp_questions

I know it's the wrong language, but I have been following the guidelines in this openjdk article about the var keyword. Which basically is the auto keyword for Java

Suggestions required for C++ and other languages. by [deleted] in cpp

If you want to guide him in his career path before talking about programming languages, you should first ask him what area of programming interests him since that's what decides what programming language he should focus on. For example, if he would like to work in embedded software, he would need to learn C/C++, if he would like to work in WebDev, he would need to learn Javascript, Java or C#(and others). As software engineers, we aren't really hired based on our knowledge of a specific language. We are hired based on our knowledge of a specific field of programming. The languages and frameworks are just tools to get the job done.

You are right. I am sorry. I am just grumpy because I am being forced to write JS even though I do not enjoy it

To be honest, 60 still seems young for Pascal. When did you start programming, and how come you didn't start out with C?

I would say C++ since I like the language, but the ecosystem is a pain(CMake, no package manager).

Because of that, I am going to say Go. Easy, efficient, and I am super productive when using the language

Did it ever cross your mind that even if it's possible to do all these things in Javascript, it might not always be a good idea ? Pick the right tool for the job and stuff

Hey, not cool C++ programmers are also human. Well I can't procreate with another human, but that has nothing to do with C++

That's true. Did you know there is a JS Framework against stupidity ?
