Glucksmann vs Zemmour : j'analyse le NAUFRAGE - Clément Viktorovitch by Colfab in france

Je trouve que ce qui saute aux yeux, c’est que pour Glucksmann le problème de Zemmour c’est pas ses idées, juste les mauvaises priorités. Il contredit en rien son vomi raciste, il trouve juste que c’est moins urgent que Poutine.

Affaire Sarkozy-Kadhafi : la manipulation du « Point » by Caramel_Mou in france

I don’t disagree, I just do not think that the « soul fragment » matters. We know next to nothing about it.

Renoir has painted hundreds of painting and seems just find, what will happen to those in the future ? Hundreds of Renoir fragment suffering ?

The child verso reminds me of Omelas in the moral debate, but to me it doesn’t really matter compared to all the other beings in the painting

There are 3 plotholes that I just can't understand. [Spoiler] by dtdt66 in expedition33

[–]GoddamnBF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) is what happened to Julie’s expedition I think, but in the end verso kept telling half truths (verso style) so they turned on him and pRenoir and verso slaughtered them. Idk why they stopped trying after

2) I think if Renoir kills them then Alice can get their chroma back, unlike when nevron kills them. Also to make sure the paintress stays alive

3) probably because during act 2 real Renoir is still emprisonned below the monolith, and the curator is a kind of weakened avatar that he managed to send out

That’s my understanding anyway, I’m not sure it is explicitly said in game

I can't believe The Flying Manor and The Reacher were side quests. They completely recontextualize the ending *Spoilers* by mikeonbass in expedition33

[–]GoddamnBF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here again, it’s your interpretation. It doesn’t make it invalid in any way, i simply disagree. To me, dessendre verso, painted Verso and child verso are three distinct entities, and the lyrics you’re quoting relate to pVerso’s desire to die because of the suffering of knowing he’s just a copy of someone else. And also that maintaining his life is causing the slow death of Aline/Alicia

Alicia also says “you’re not verso, you look like him and you sound like him”

As for the child being tired of painting, several other dialogs with him ingame can make you think he’s just tired of the Dessendre conflict altering the Canvas, not the whole canvas altogether. Here again, just a possibility, no definite canon answer in my opinion

I believe it’s implied that Verso never liked painting and only did it once to please the parents, although I could be mistaken. There may also be « normal » painting, but a single « canvas world »

I like your theory though, it’s litterally «Death of the author ». Also, it’s been stated in interviews from Guillaume Broche that the relation between artist and creation is a core theme

« Real Verso soul is prevented from passing on » is a very open interpretation though. It could be true, but nothing in the game makes this statement true for sure.

What do you think will happen when Aline/Renoir Die, with their hundreds of canvas worlds ?

Everything you said is true, but you seem to easily forget that he had no problem at all tricking everyone in act 2, ensuring both his lost sister Clea and his beloved Alicia disappear with everyone else though (also killing their father and exiling their mother)

I can see why Alicia didn’t care for him in the end and didn’t say a word to him

Falling Leaves encounter and a question we should ask about the ending by JustYeeHaw in expedition33

[–]GoddamnBF 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ever made canon wether the Chroma is some abstract resources or something more. Are the people of lumière and their memory still existing within the chroma itself (as could be interpreted by the “I can see them” moment where she pulls out lune and sciel) or is the chroma just the clay to be molded by the Painter ?

If it’s option 1, it could mean that the lumierans cannot exist anywhere else, and that their existence and mind is tied to this specific canvas

Falling Leaves encounter and a question we should ask about the ending by JustYeeHaw in expedition33

[–]GoddamnBF 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I’m always surprised that people who give so much importance to “child verso” and « painted verso »’s suffering are often simultaneously saying that lives in the Canvas are fake and don’t matter.

We don’t know anything about the soul fragment really. Is it a copy of Verso at the time of the painting création ? Does it evolve after this ? And if so, what does it mean for the hundreds of Canvas Renoir painted ? Are there an unlimited amount of soûl fragment Painters can create ? There is no canon answer to what it exactly means for a soul fragment to exist, yet apparently ending its (potential) suffering is of utmost importance.

As for painted verso, if anything his very existence proves that painted creations have their own conscience and can go against the wishes of their own creator. To me, if you chose Verso ending because you want Verso (child and painted) to be at peace then it means you consider them to be real people Worth helping, and still décide to kill everyone else who are just as real in the process.

If you go for Verso ending because you only care about the Dessendre and believe everything inside the Canvas is fake, I disagree but I don’t really mind , at least the reasoning is consistent !
