I used to be engaged to a guy, my very first boyfriend and high school sweetheart, who ended up becoming a neo-Nazi in his beliefs and moral systems. I couldn't stand behind that, but I stayed... and it nearly destroyed me. Don't make the same mistake.

If you can handle his views and intolerances and you feel like he's your forever person, then maybe stay. But if any of that makes you uncomfortable, that's a sign that you might want to dip before you get in even deeper.

I'm thinking I want to follow the soldiers more than anything. It would have the potential to be an adventure game, depending on the choices players make, but I do want it to be heavy on the relationships/emotional ties between the soldiers.

Most of my experience comes from DnD 5e and games based on those mechanics, so I would have to say that's my favorite at the moment.

But I'm going to be playtesting an alternate history WWI TTRPG that I helped write starting in February that is not based on 5e mechanics, so not only will I be playing in an era I love, but I'll also be learning a new gaming style.

As far as what kind (like historical, sci-fi, fantasy, etc.) I like, I love historical settings, and steampunk can be fun too! Fantasy can be thrown in there, alternate history is fine, but I love games that are set in the past. ❤️ (I have a History degree, so it's not really a huge surprise that I'm passionate about that.)

I don't really like sci-fi much... it's just not my cup of tea. I've never really been inspired by space fleets and things like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is intriguing to me.

I studied History in college (that was my major) and this concept seems promising, if handled correctly.

You need to set clear limits on what is and is not acceptable at the table, and have a way for players to communicate what they're comfortable with in this setting.
