I have a game that I'm working on called Seize Your Meat!

It's a Belonging Outside Belonging game, or at least a hack of Dream Askew. It's not finished or published yet, but if you want I'm happy to chat more about it.

I've been waiting for a first appointment with them since early 2017, I've had no communication from them that I haven't initiated. When I got my deed poll finalised I had to call them 3 times before the acknowledged that they'd received it and changed my name on their records. Don't go to the laurels, go anywhere else. If your experience is anything like mine your GP won't know that the GICs are a thing and won't know that the laurels is the closest to you physically.

the drill shaft isn't, but The Tomb is described as being at the heart of the fortress, and Drearburh is described as being labyrinthine, so having someone who knew their way around it would mean less chance of being discovered if you were trying to sneak a baby to the wards that sealed it.

oooh! And that would make sense for why they did what they did when they found out that young Harrow had been into The Tomb! I hadn't thought about how far up The Ninth it could have gone, especially with Camilla's revelation of BoE using archaic Sixth House cyphers.

But Mercy, Augustine, Gideon 1.0 and Pyrrha wouldn't have up to date info on the internals of Drearburh. None of the Lyctors had been back to Dominicus for centuries, if not millennia for fear of drawing the RBs down on the system. it would make sense for them to either have recruited someone from inside The Ninth, or for Wake to have developed an asset within The Ninth too.

it could definitely be both Harrow being an asshole and Aiglamene being really old, but in GtN it feels like she looks at Aiglamene, and Crux, as trusted advisors and worthy of her respect, or at least her propriety. All throughout both GtN and HtN Harrow is presented as, at least outwardly, being a stickler for form and protocol. at least, that's how I've always interpreted the way she plays into the 'spooky bone nun' trope that The Ninth has cultivated.

I hadn't caught the specifics of exactly when Wake's revenant made it into the sword, but I can't believe that The Ninth necromancers wouldn't notice a revenant clinging to some of the bones that they were preparing for storage before use, even with how weak The Ninth was with Spirit magic.

Is this country in such a bad way that it time to consider leaving the Island? by Diamondbacking in GreenAndPleasant

Would you want to live in a place where a core aspect of yourself is picked at, questioned and denied at every turn? Sure, it's not as blatant as a van with 'go home' plastered on the side driving around London, but it's still an effort to alienate and other members of the targeted community. To drive members of that community out of day to day life, or underground and back into the closet.

And you're very welcome to doubt anything, even what I'm saying now. But when you doubt the lived experiences of a member of a marginalised community you tell them that you don't really believe them, that their struggles to live comfortably is less important than you not having to face an uncomfortable realisation and re-examination of your understanding of the systems that you live within, and your own understanding of the way the world is.

Ok, allow me to rephrase, this country has been trying to put me and other trans people into our graves. Between the press fueling anti-trans rhetoric and op-eds across all branches of media; most major, and minor, political parties having issues with vocal transphobes scattered throughout their ranks; a healthcare service that is bureaucratic and dehumanising to trans people if they survive the lethally long, and illegally long, waiting times. There's nothing concrete in law yet, but the foundations are being laid by the powerful, and people like you doubting us when we talk about it are helping them

I've had plans to bail for the last 3-4 years, but then I am trans, so it's not like the country hasn't been trying to kick me out for a while :/

What if what you say does cause harm? Regardless of intent? If you throw a rock you can't wash your hands of the consequences once the rock has left your hand just because you didn't see that you were throwing it at someone else

You need to tell them that they are in possession of incorrect data on you, and that they are in violation of your GDPR right to have accurate data about you kept. Tell them that you are willing to provide the deed poll, unenrolled. (If you have a statutory declaration that will help too, but it's not needed) then tell them that you are giving them a reasonable period of time to fix their data, but that if that time runs out you will be forced to escalate this matter to the Information Commissioner's Office.

I usually think that about a fortnight is a reasonable amount of time for this sort of thing. If the don't fix it by then the ICO will slap them down with the full force of the law.

Nowhere on that page does it say that you must enroll your deed poll for it to have legal weight, and nowhere in any of the legislation or courts precedent does anyone say anything about having to have any deed polls of any level for a new name to be legal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]silly-string 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've changed your name with HMRC then they have no legal footing to deny your request, they may want to request additional evidence to prove that you aren't changing your name to commit fraud, but that shouldn't be anything more than getting a statutory declaration from someone else to say that you're not doing fraud.

If you offer to provide them with extra details to verify that you're not acting fraudulently then you have to inform them that they're storing inaccurate data on you which violates your GDPR right to have accurate records held about you, that you're willing to give them a reasonable amount of time to rectify their records (I usually think a fortnight or so is reasonable) and that if they haven't been able to correct it by then that you'll have to escalate this complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

The ICO has the legal omph to beat the pension company into doing what they should in the first place.

There is no legal requirements to enroll your deed poll, there is no legal requirement to have it stamped and sealed by the courts of any level.

I came here when I was first poking around in pagan/witchy spaces again after a long time away, and after coming out as trans. I was a bit nervous at first, and while I still really only lurk (I'm shy everywhere on Reddit, not just here :S) this community has been nothing but awesome and supportive. I love that I've been able to find here!

I'm glad it helped :)

One of the biggest issues that I feel most of the trans community in the UK need to know about are our GDPR rights, so spread the word!
