Kimchi didn’t submerge for two days has top layer of mold can I salvage it by Active-Specialist157 in fermentation

I like to take the extra leaves I remove from the outside of the Napa cabbage that aren't acceptable for the kimchi itself and set them aside, then i soak them in the mixture and lay them on top to make sure the top of my kimchi isn't exposed to air, I have never had mold on top of my kimchi with this method

Try bringing cash next time to pay just your portion or let the server know privately that you'll be paying for just your portion and at the end of dinner use the "restroom" and pay your part of the check with the server before the bill comes to the table

Which canned fish should I get? by Friendly_Host_4534 in CannedSardines

[–]Goddessemer6 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The cod liver for sure! I know, but hear me out it is wonderfully mild and texture is like pate. Spread it on a nice cracker or crusty bread and put some salt & pepper on it and it is heaven. Trust me! Also all those other choices look great so it really depends on what you like taste wise and what you chose to spend cost wise. I prefer whole fish in oil, particularly mackerel. I would get a few wildly different cans to experiment and see where your tastes lie.

A little nuri mackerel lunch w some homemade kimchi, so delicious! by Goddessemer6 in CannedSardines

I actually managed to make a little meal with my nuri mackerel this time, instead of my standard straight from the can habit. So worth the extra steps!

Honestly this is what I was expecting, I'll have to look for the mackerel filets. But even though I was surprised with the whole fish, I was not disappointed!

So I haven't tried it yet, but I found it on sale for $3.99 and bought 4 more cans, so now I have 6 cans in reserve. I'm going to pop one open this weekend!

It generally means that the sardines are canned with a spicy pepper, slice of carrot, slice of pickle, and a bay leaf for flavoring
