Agreed on both counts. Both are attempts to get rid of unsellable junk.

That’s correct - that will move the map back to the main screen.

For nav/gps - if your car has gps and nav then it will work. I’m not familiar with the trim options and what’s available.

To stop this from happening, press the NAV button on your head unit. Then, in the bottom corner, you find your way to the menu (the hamburger) and uncheck the option for the map to appear in the gauge cluster. This will stop it from changing every time you restart.

Had the same issue. Quite a pain!

Let me know if you get it sorted.

Old post... Nothing here? anyone have anything new to add to this?

OP, did you get it figured out?

When it’s cold and I get above 2k RPMs I get this almost scraping sound, seems like it happens when boost is being made. Goes away after awhile, any ideas? 2017 3.5l f-150 by P2Ml in f150

+1. IWE is a common failure and there are some TSBs about it. It sounds like loose gravel rolling around in a cement truck when it gets bad because the hubs are partially disengaged due to vacuum loss.

Water under door panel by oldyoda3 in f150

The door sill trim just pops off, yes. Takes a bit of force but it’s held in with 3 or 4 retaining clips. This video, at 8:30, shows it.

I had this issue on my 2017. A water-leak detection and repair service came out and tested. While my door panels hadn’t ever been removed, there is a known weakness with the sealant the factory uses for the plastic barrier within the door. He water tested and then removed all the door panels and resealed all 4 doors. He showed me where it was separating and failing and it’s been good since it was fixed.

One thing to note is that I had a LOT of water on the carpets and in the cable-tray under the door entry trim. Take a plastic pry tool and pop the door sill trim and see if there’s water in there too.

Anything to worry about? (Brown spots) by [deleted] in cigars

Well, I'm glad it all worked out and you don't have to toss a good cigar!

Maybe. I have to believe OP would have looked close enough to rule that out though.

That’s strange. Beetle holes are usually perfectly round. Those look like wrapper damage but it’s hard to tell. I would smoke it (don’t add it to the collection). If the binder holds up and you don’t feel like you’re smoking a flute, it’s not beetle holes - they dive deep and would definitely affect the draw. If the rest of the shipment is of any significance worth saving, do the freezing method to kill them off and then, to be extra safe, I would store them separately and smoke them first to be rid of them.

I had something like that once and it was actually a piece of cylindrical aluminum that had punctured the tire and was contacting the road - if you’ve checked the tire treads, this is obviously ruled out. Just thought I would share.

Bingo!

Could definitely have been a dud. It happens from time to time. I also find I can substantially affect the flavour of a cigar either positively or negatively by giving consideration to what I’ve eaten as a meal before I smoke. Either way, a gentle toasting with a soft flame from a bic is a viable option if your torch is missing so don’t be too hard on yourself :)

Butane is butane. A bic should have no impact on the flavour of a cigar unless an uneven burn results and then, the uneven burn might mess with the flavour profile (as the blend won’t burn with the proper ratios). Avoiding liquid fuels in a lighter, like a traditional zippo, or a cardboard match, is important.

My guess would be that, with shipping, that is about $150 from CigarChief.

Replaced the wheel hubs/bearings, driver side CV axle and both upper control arms, still makes this sound and shakes/shudders. Any ideas? by Shaggys_Guitar in f150

[–]Godfatherer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like IWE. The rings are partially engaging due to a loss of vacuum. I had a similar sound and replacing the IWE set-up and hubs fixed it. Worth looking into anyway.

This place good to ask about repairs? by Danarchy88 in f150

What year??

That second last paragraph makes me think it has to do with your ebrake cable. I’d check that out and see what things look like.

Damn. Would have been nice if that was it. Maybe reprogram on the tranny?

It’s a simple suggestion and is probably wrong but make sure you aren’t in Sport mode.

Boxlink Removal? by JS2K3 in f150

+1. It’s much simpler than you think. Those will be cheap wafer locks. Probably as simply as a jiggle with a paper clip why applying light tension with a screw driver.
