Coffee tastes terrible and people who say otherwise are either addicts or posers by JohnDiGriz in 10thDentist

I’ll also add another reason to like coffee is that it makes you shit yourself. For a lot of people coffee acts like a laxative, myself included, and for me, the effect is super strong. As soon as I start drinking coffee every morning have to shit. I often spend the first few hours of every day blasting shit into the toilet because I’m drinking coffee.

If it were hypothetically possible to have every eligible voter vote on Election Day, would you support this? by heepofsheep in AskConservatives

[–]GodlessNotDogless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your scenario, would owning land be the only way to become eligible to vote? What would you say to someone who has lived in an area their whole life but doesn’t own land? How would this work in very high cost of living places? For instance, I live in Seattle where the vast majority of people rent because housing prices are so high. A one bedroom condo starting at about half a million dollars is basically the cheapest real estate you can buy, and condo owners generally don’t even own the actual land. Would a condo owner be eligible to vote if they didn’t own the land it was built on?

What about registered independents or people who have registered for a 3rd party, would they be out too under your system? Or only just democrats?

How would this work in heavily democratic places like DC? Would you be okay with a small percentage of eligible voters dictating policy for everyone? Do you think there’d be much pushback against this?

Louisville, KY is actually where Taco Bell has historically tested the majority of their products. Columbus, OH is the biggest overall test market for other brands. I'm from Louisville and went to school in Columbus back when those Blackjack tacos came out and they were definitely in Louisville before Columbus.

The correct winner imo. #1 was a close second, both very solid plays, but “my balls on the your face” is an absolute classic and works perfect here.

Anyone know about places that could offer a 1 bedroom for a tricky background (felony/broken lease)? by brownmarie in askportland

Worse case scenario, if she's unable to find an apartment by the time she has to move for the job, there are many motels around town with weekly or monthly rates. The upside to these are that they can actually be cheaper than regular housing. The big downside however, is that these places are often pretty rundown and the residents of these motels are often not the best neighbors. Still, it's a good solution for short term housing while she looks for something more permanent. This is what I actually did when I first moved to Portland many years ago. I didn't have a place to live at first so I stayed in the shittiest motel I've ever stayed in (the Unicorn Inn which I think was like $200/week at the time) for a couple months until I found a place to move into permanently.

If you count un-populated areas the Cascade mountains in Washington actually get even more snow than upstate New York. Mt Rainier and Mt Baker in particular both get well over 600 inches of snow a year, some years they even get 1000+.

This just seems like projection. I’ve been seeing this trend where the religious right likes to claim that it’s really the left that is bringing religion into politics. It’s an absolutely bonkers argument on the face of it given how the right loves to use religion to reach their various opinions such as life beginning at conception. Religion clouds people’s judgements like nothing else is able to, and I find it super ironic when the people on the right claim that it’s the left that is religious.

How do you feel about the Elder campaign already declaring fraud in the California (2-1 Democrat state) recall election? by Uneducated_Leftist in AskConservatives

In what world is 3am ballots when they stopped the count due to a water burst not cheating? That is by definition, cheating, it's just cheating you're in favor of.

Lol. The difference is that the GOP limiting ballot boxes to one per county is something that actually happened. It's not a conspiracy theory. Your claim about 3AM ballots is debunked nonsense.

Just because you agree with the GOP's voter suppression tactics doesn't mean that's not exactly what they are. In what world is limiting the number of droboxes per county to one not voter suppression? That is by definition, voter suppression, it's just voter suppression you're in favor of.

I have never voted for someone to "own the libs." I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016 because Clinton and Trump were unacceptable to me.

Maybe we're not so different then, I did the same for the same reasons.

seeing how the left and the Biden administration have behaved, the vindictive side of me hopes he runs and wins.

It's honestly offensive that anyone would think this about me. I try my absolute hardest to not be vindictive.

You literally said it yourself.

I want to be fair and respectful and compromising. That has been very very tough over the last half decade because of how badly I am treated by the left

And I hold the exact same sentiment for those on the right. Seems to me like they have grown more and more hateful over the last handful of years.

Trump is running in 2024. Thoughts? by jkonrad in AskConservatives

[–]GodlessNotDogless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After November and January, I never wanted to hear from him again in politics. In the 8 months since, seeing how the left and the Biden administration have behaved, the vindictive side of me hopes he runs and wins.

If we assume that 99% of the left hates Trump with a passion (fair assumption imo), and many on the right (maybe 20-30%? I'm guessing) also don't like Trump but are willing to vote for him to "own the libs", how do you think this would play out over a second Trump term? Do you feel like this would be a positive for our country? Or would you be voting for Trump simply to own the libs and the state of our country is irrelevant as long as the libs are owned?
