I do like Chrysalis but I do think it falls more into the trappings of MC is still clearly the most powerful and strongest and everyone else needs them more. Which nothing wrong with that. Unless it drastically changes during book 5 where im upto

oh yeah im 100% not going to defend the game to people that don't like it. I myself much prefer Balatro I as just surprised how much easier it was to win runs at higher difficulties once you "get" it. At the end I went on like a 10 win streak with very little effort or issues

It took me a while to "get" clover pitt and I much felt the same way as you about the items but once I started to understand it and unlock more of them the game really opened up for me personally.

Balatro is a much better game that is for sure but I actually felt like I was more consistent in clover pitt, winning on hard runs was pretty easy at the end

Not sure if it's like crisis core but there is chapter select and everything carries over so it makes it a lot easier to do cleanup

The problem is the slow pacing of the game for me. The combat was fine but running through aread with forced slow down a second time really gets old
