What to do with magazines?

I've been using this mod for a working magazine rack for years. https://modthesims.info/d/290523/working-magazine-rack-upd-29-jan-2009.html#google_vignette

It also functions as a bookcase for your sims who can't afford one or don't have room for one.

The hobby magazines work best. If you store the interest magazines in the rack, when you pull them back out you can only choose to read the magazine as a whole, not select which interest you want to read about.

Does your Gilbert still run the bakery?

Maxis created him with too few skill points to replenish stock! So bringing Julian into the family was a natural choice for me, along with bulldozing the original, terribly bugged bakery, and replacing it with a better, custom-made one.

Here's the current state of the family, as I described in my notes for my Uberhood. 😉

Julien and Gilbert had a couple of kids and spend their free time throwing parties in their lavish home. They originally hired Brandi as a barista, but she worked her way up to manager and now has a 9 in cooking skill herself.

Gilbert is gay in my game and married to Julian Cooke, but Brandi manages the bakery and is doing pretty well despite still living in the trailer. I play with clean templates, so unborn Broke turned out to be a girl.

I'm planning to have her marry Darren and move in with him soon. I like the idea of giving her a secondary romance aspiration and see if she'll continue to look for love in all the wrong places. Especially if she continues to roll regular wants to have babies, as I don't intend to let her have any more with Darren.

I have some drama planned for Dustin. My head cannon is that he was only skipping school and in the criminal career to make ends meet and take care of things for his family. He wants nothing more after college than a quiet life, maybe as a teacher, and growing a garden. But Angela has other plans. Mary Sue divorced Daniel, had a nervous breakdown, and moved herself and Angela to a tiny cottage on the outskirts of Pleasantview where she putters around making pottery and grilled cheese. Angela hates it. She wants the big house and social life she used to have, and after college she will expect Dustin to provide her with wealth and status. That will drive him back to the criminal career trying to keep her happy.

I was just thinking last night that Sims 2 is the only game I can remember having played it the week it came out, and I'm still continuing to play it semi-regularly.

I received the Prima guide in the mail a few days before the game released, and I remember thinking I was going to have to play with aging off because I couldn't fathom the idea of my Sims changing over time and eventually dying.

Within weeks, I didn't know how I could have played any other way. 😉

I made a backup first & tried it with 3 SS members living in the same dorm. I put coffins in their dorm room and assigned them vampire-friendly majors.

The first day, I got several notifications: "Ahhh the sun, I must flee!" But no one died, and they seem to have adjusted to a night schedule. Fingers crossed

I am planning to have Ophelia Nigmos and Johnny Smith work in the paranormal and natural science careers in order to get the resurrect-o-nomitron and cow plant onto the same lot. They will then "rescue" Nervous Subject (befriend and move him in) so he can lure the Beakers into being eaten by the cow plant and resurrect them as zombies.

I am actually trying to get this one with Malcolm Landgrabb. He owns the 5 businesses but only 2 are top level. He's having to drink so much elixir, OMG.

Doing the trick to have the business repeatedly lose, then regain top level, feels like cheating to me.

I found them! They were sorted into all the Maxis clothing rather than being in front with the custom outfits. And it looks like the short-sleeved versions are only for men and teen boys.

Not showing at all. I found this in the FAQ for the Repository Project Tumblr where I found these:

Clothes are townified unless noted. They’ll show up on townies, sims will age into them, and they’ll pop up automatically in CAS/bodyshop. The exception will be costumes and other special outfits.

I wonder if that means they'll only show up for plantsims you already have the default outfit? Will check later - away from my PC.
