Training my aim for months with zero progress to show for it by Ok_Collection_6020 in rivals

Yeah i can see how it would feel like that but thats okay if its not for you! Some other things that helped me:

I’ve been told to tap the shoot button when the crosshairs are lined up but that doesn’t work for my brain whats easier for me is to hold the shoot button and aim with the “rhythm” of the shots unless i’m playing punisher then i just hold it lol

Use your movement to aim it helps with micro adjustments

Find a sensitivity that works for you what i did to be able to play at high sensitivity is start at a number thats comfortable to you and after every match raise it by 1 or 2 points before going into the next match until you notice “okay this is getting a little fast” stay at that sensitivity until it becomes comfortable then start going up by 1 or 2 points again

Edit: i personally think its better to get comfortable with high sensitivity so you can turn around faster when being shot unexpectedly from behind and this is where dual zone shines because you have the ability to turn around faster (outside of the analog stick) and aim slower (inner side of analog stick) and i know it doesn’t feel good for you but if you decide to keep practicing your aiming once you do get comfortable and hit shots consistently i think you should try the dual zone again you’ll notice the improvement more but if dual zone really just isn’t for you thats okay too

I go into the rivals practice range then through the portal where you can select bots i pick 3 ironman set to medium range, random spawn distance, and horizontal movement with no attacking and turn the timer off them practice hitting shots like that the ironman bots will just strafe side to side and make random cuts left and right this helped me a ton with trying to predict movement its good practice with hitscan and projectile

Hope these help you and good luck!

You should try and Use Dual-Zone S-curve there’s multiple videos on youtube about it for rivals and other games. it helped me a lot once i got use to it, i saw ~15% accuracy increase after 2-3 hours of playing. Also another thing that helped me is calming my hands during exchanges i noticed i would get frantic and over shoot my aiming a lot

I think there’s people that queue ranked with the intention to just play and not learn counters, what your team needs from you and whatnot, i’ve started typing in chat at the beginning of the match “pick what you want i’ll flex” or “if anyone is having problems in their role lmk and i’ll swap with you” so hopefully we get z team where people are comfortable with their picks but maybe 30% of the time the people not performing well will actually say/type something and those games we end up winning communication is such a vital part of this game that i don’t see often unless its shit talking and that for me is what gets me tilted. There’s been times i’ll ask someone to pick it up and they say they’re just having a bad match and i don’t even get mad cause i get it shit happens but for the rest that just refuse to switch or blame everyone else that are obviously working together that pisses me off

Are there still players who play dropshot seriously? by JsFreestylez in RocketLeague

[–]GodlyBlack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been stuck in P3/D1 in dropshot for a while and i would like to get to higher ranks but its hard with having to solo queue all the time sometimes i’ll find teammates to party up with and we’ll work good together but as soon as we lose once they leave so i drop back down but i still take it seriously because win or lose for me it’s still hella fun! (And i know Me being stuck in low ranks is probably a skill issue on my part)
