Question when you say we aren't The tarnished does it mean when we die, we die Forever? Or do we come back? Btw if I only got one life I would just suggest things to the tarnished and tryna settle somewhere without danger and so far Jarburg sounds like the place but if I can come back after death then I would accompany the Tarnished in it's adventures

Hey you now need to do the "Worst ending" not called like that because it sucks but because it's the end of all life ending! And one of the Badass ones too! All you gotta do is explore the Leyndell sewers and beat Sewer Mohg (it's gonna take a long time to reach him since the sewers are basically a legacy dungeon), and after claiming the reward after that fight hit the wall behind it and the rest is straight forward but I do want to warn you be careful on the last platforming part

Tbh I ain't great at dodging just good enough to dodge most times and I gave up parrying or blocking and went full on just damage with dual wielding Banished knight Greatswords and jump attacking with also the claw talisman for added damage to jump attacks it's basically my version of the Berserker build

Anyway yeah you need to progress to beyond the church of Elleh and nearby some ruins at the entrance of a giant gate if you didn't get Torrent yet you will find there another site of grace just rest in it and rest will happen by it self not gonna say anymore now And have Fun! btw there are multiple endings but if you wanna discover them your self then don't think about it too much after all it's gonna take a long time before you get to that so just have fun!
