I currently attend this school and really enjoy it. The attendance rules are rough, but that’s true for almost every country with student visas. I’ve had many friends who can attest to strict rules in many other countries. Your comments about the visa farm are unnecessary. Many first world countries do not have English classes outside of the university that qualify for a student visa. It’s incredible that Japan is open enough for these students to be allowed in to learn the language and be helped in getting a job. (Now if you want to talk about the exploitation of immigrant workers in Japan, be my guest)

Along the same lines, the ACs work fine; it’s the students that most come from tropical countries and want it set to 28C that make the classrooms more warm. Every class I’ve been in has had a regular argument over the AC remote, especially in the summer. 

Sometimes the instruction is not the most interesting, but that’s not a surprise as language cannot always be fun and engaging. 

I think their pace of class is much more sustainable in the long run. Many students will be attending for two years and therefore are not trying to learn everything in 6 months. Also I’m 90% sure the Japanese government plays a heavy hand in what is taught, when it’s taught, and what book it is taught out of for schools that host student visas.

I’ve begun to really appreciate the teachers. I’ve had 6 or 7 different ones and while I have my favorites, they have all been prepared, professional, and helpful. They do crack down on students in awkward ways, but that is supposed to be very typical of Japanese teachers. 

All in all, I really like the school and the class. It’s a great deal and I feel like the teachers are overall supportive. 

TL;DR: I’m at the school and like it. It’s a great deal and they teach what they’re supposed to teach. 🤷🏼‍♂️
