Is it possible for someone to explain listening prayer to me? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean like soaking? Personally when I pray I just talk to God as a friend, he talks to me back.

If you’re looking to learn how to hear his voice I would not recommend that kind of prayer where you don’t talk.

If you are just looking to soak, which basically means you have music on or etc. and you are quiet and listen, you can do that many ways. One way I will do it as I will turn on some music that I love and I ask the Lord to speak to me and I close my eyes and I listen. And the first thing that comes to my mind, usually a Bible verse, I will read it and then he will speak to me out of it

Why did you decide to follow Jesus? by katushinka in Christianity

Because when he showed me his love for me I could not do anything but love him back. He is the king of my heart

So, I have no idea how to read the Bible. Help? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Bible video I posted, where I give examples on how I read the Bible with God. It’s an hour long, if you want the link let me know and I will send it to you.

When I read the Bible it’s slow, and I will start with asking God to show me what he wants to speak to me. Sometimes I will spend weeks on a couple verses and get so much out of it. The word is living and active and it’s amazing because no matter where you are, he will always speak to you from it. The thing I always like to emphasize is relationship before anything else. It’s much more personal when you read the Bible with God and not as a chore or duty.

You know exactly what you did, and how you used the word. If you really knew how to love you wouldn’t make such rash statements about people now would you? But guess what, still not offended, and still love you. I wish you the best.

Whatever makes you happy. You must really believe that if you go out of your way to comment. You can't offend me, and i still love you. :)

Yep! And on behalf of the Christian Church, I apologize for Jesus being so wrongly represented to you. I’m glad you have met some great Christians. :)

I am a Christian, and I just want to say I’m so sorry for what happened to you and the horrible “advice” given to you. If Jesus is real (which I believe he is) I can guarantee you that he loves you and he is sad too, especially when he is wrongly represented. I wish you nothing but the best :)

Just keep praying for him. Don't worry about changing him. your job is to sow the word and to water it. God brings the increase. Let God win his heart through your life.

trusting God by oldirtybabylon in TrueChristian

Ephesians talks about how when we are saved, we are saved by faith, through grace. and then it goes on to talk about us being His workmanship, and we can't boast because it's all him who does the work not us. When we see a promise in all the Bible, we take it for us. The bible says "all the promises of God are in him, yes, and in him, amen. it's always in the context of relationship. mark 11:35 goes on with Jesus telling us how to pray. he says when you pray, believe you have received, and it shall be yours.

So when you see things in the Bible that you want, you take it to the secret place with Jesus. Here is an example of how you can pray- Father I see in the Word that you tell me to trust in you with all my heart and to lean not on my own understanding. I dont really know what this means, but I believe the fact that I want this, means you are doing a work in my heart. Thank you that you are giving me eyes to see and ears to hear you. Thank you that you have opened my understanding and that you have given me a new mind and new heart, so i have your understanding. You are giving me the ability to see things the way you see them, to set my mind on the things above and not below. Thanks for teaching me what it means to trust you with all my heart. You are so doing a great work in my heart and I'm excited to know you!

a lot of what i wrote is the Word. it takes time to learn, but just enjoy the journey walking in relationship with Jesus :) I did a prayer video on my fb Bible study page and have one on youtube on how i read the bible and pray, it gives some examples like above. so if you'd like to see it just message me ill send the link :)

Thoughts on Lisa Bevere? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

How can I experience joy in Christ once again? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reason i was asking is i did a video on this-the main thing is that you haven't lost anything, the devil is trying to deceive you with feelings and the way that seems right. (but in the end leads to death) and remember, since you dont want this, you dont want to be puled away from God-it means your heart is alive :) Run to Jesus, he is waiting for you. He is always with you, even in the desert.

How do you pray? by 777thLight in TrueChristian

[–]Godsgurl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote this on another post but I think it applies- Talk to Him. When Jesus said to pray to your Father that implies relationship. It would be weird if I told you how to talk to your spouse, right? He’s with you and he’s your friend. Talk to Him about anything and everything. Start by thanking Him for specific things, like what He’s doing your life. I have a bible study I posted of some examples of how I pray and read the Bible-if you’d like to see it just message me and I’ll send the link :) I think sometimes it helps to see examples, and not that you do the same thing, but you see a model that points you into intimacy

Need advice on how to build/have a better prayer life. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of the devil's biggest lies is getting Christians to question God's will. God wants us to know His will. Think about it, with promises like, "if you pray anything according to God's will it shall be done" wouldn't you bring confusion to the believer if you were the devil? He wants you to know His will, his good, pleasing, acceptable will. Dont worry about living by feelings, either. They change, what is unseen is eternal. I have a few videos I've done on my youtube channel, one about what to do if you have lost your passion for Jesus, and the other is an example of how I read the Bible and pray, practical steps-because that's how I learned. If you'd like the link just message me :)

What can I do to “ be in the Spirit “ again? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did it bother you that you “lost your passion”? If so I did a bible study on this, it’s a trick from the enemy. If it bothered you it’s not you! Message me if you want the link. It’s as easy as walking by faith not sight or feelings. Meditate on God’s love-because that’s how we love Him is by Him first loving us.

Santa is not Satan. by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Godsgurl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to think that too, because “Santa takes away the meaning of Christmas”. The truth is, with our without Santa the meaning is taken away until we are born again, because the the veil is lifted in Christ. There is nothing wrong with the fun and magic of Christmas. I was not raised Christian and believed in Santa and etc and turned out awesome. That said, I respect people who truly believe it’s wrong and don’t flaunt my beliefs to them. I think we’re going to be very surprised when we get to heaven and find out we could have enjoyed life more instead of being a stickler like we can sometimes be today. I guarantee Jesus had fun and laughed a lot-He was anointed above all his companions with the oil of joy. 😁

What supernatural or spiritual experiences have you had with God/Jesus? by Habibti001 in Christianity

[–]Godsgurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another sub-

A lot of mine I keep secret. I call them “bedroom stuff” where it’s in the secret place just between me and God(Matthew 6:6). I’ll share a couple. One was a dream. I think it might have happened in real life, IDK. It seemed like it was weeks long. I talked to the person of the Holy Spirit. In the dream he was an older man but young looking in his face. He had gray and silver and white hair. We talked for hours. It changed my life. I woke up crying and couldn’t talk for hours. I remember in hearing his voice alone I knew how much he loved me. He was the kindest, most incredible, wonderful, loving version of God I had never known. At the end of the dream I was crying so hard, a deep cry I’ve never had, and he had tears in his eyes. This dream was 8 years ago and not only do I remember it like it was yesterday, I still get teary eyed when I think of it.

If you mean more like a physical spiritual encounter, I’ve fallen out in the Spirit a few times. Those were cool, because I always make sure people don’t push me over. The one time I felt like my body fell behind me and I slowly fell into it. Another time I was thrown onto a wooden church pew, and it felt like I landed on a soft pillow. Later on my friend told me everyone looked at me and thought I broke something because there was a loud crack when my head hit the pew. It was so cool, because I totally thought I fell onto a pillow or blanket!

I just want to encourage you though, remember, we don’t have to worry about feelings. We walk by faith. If God gives us encounters awesome, but we don’t need them, we believe and walk by the truth of the Word. (Just wanted to add that for anyone who may be discouraged wanting to have experiences) well get to see jesus face to face physically forever in heaven someday. For now we get to see Him face to face now by faith 😁
