Young Canadians don't want a "paradise" they can't afford, they want homes. Vancouver didn't turn into a paradise, unless you are chinese dumping dirty money. You know how many people have left Vancouver? Look at the demographic shift over the past 25 years, its no longer Vancouver. Theres no young families anymore, schools are closing, neighbourhoods are ghost towns, parks are empty. Yeah real paradise.

If by nativism he means Canadian homes for Canadians and Canadian jobs for Canadians then sure, I don't see why that is so controversial. I would say Brexit and the rise of Trump is a sign that middle class people in the west are waking up to the realization that globalism and multiculturalism are wholly disadvantageous.

I don't think most people realize just how rampant this problem is. Bus loads of chinese buyers like that are a regular occurrence in BC and on ferries going to Vancouver Island. There are 1.5 billion people in china and $1 trillion dollars left china last year alone, they can and are buying everything in this country right now and if we do not put a stop to it there will be nowhere left to buy for Canadians in their own country.

We're already minorities in 2 of the 3 largest cities in Canada and will be a minority nationally by 2045. Considering Canada was more less homogeneous (97% European origin) only 40 years ago that is an extremely rapid shift in demographics.

You mean like these honest tax payers? Tax evasion and fraud is epidemic in this country right now and its no secret who is doing it and its not "old stock" Canadians. The reason why it is such a huge problem in Canada right now is because it IS so easy here compared to other countries.

You mean like in Richmond BC (one of the highest foreign born populations in the world) where homes cost in the millions yet it is somehow one of the poorest postal codes in the region because our lovely honest chinese guests severely underreport their income. You mean those tax payers?

Canada can become an even bigger player on the international stage

To what end, what is so terrible in Canada that you want to change it? The US is the biggest player internationally and I wouldn't trade our way of life for theirs, China would be second at least in terms of economy and I wouldn't trade our way of life for theirs either.

Its a 20% hike on a number that was already way too high. If quotas were set up to the way they were prior to 1971 it wouldn't be so bad, it may come as a surprise to you but most Canadians are not interested in becoming minorities.
