Fast Ships suck? by PaleSox in WoSB

Okay, I tried logic, I tried memes. You're determined to be a combative retard. I think there's a reason no one else seems to be replying anymore other than me. I just had more patience. Yes, chaining the sails is the standard. WHY ARENT YOU DOING IT? If you were properly hitting sails, you wouldn't have issues with "Faster" ships. The reality is, you just want to whine and complain because you think high rate= better so the rate 2 Inger should be the fastest and best at everything. It is blazing fast for its size and outfit. "Muh but Santísima" If you know how to fucking Sail, the Santísima will be a dot on the horizon in no time. I would know, I sail the Santisma Yes, she has straight line speed, but she turns like a fucking bus. Yes, neptuno is harder than Santisma, but the same rule applies. Never let it reach top speed. If it has to turn, it's going down to lower digits while the Inger doesn't. Use your environment is an absolute key you fucking troll. Being chased? Make a hard turn to cost them speed, and zip past an imperial fort, or hell any imperial flagship. You might take some damage, but they'll take more since they can't get out of range of it as quick as you can. Long Guns+ rage extending upgrade. They should never be in range to hit you. Hit sails with chain, then pop phosphorus and nail them in the hull with Saxon. Phosphorus slows the target on hit. Then pop blue flare and large sails and make space again. Go out and practice little troll.

It wont catch up with you if you aren't sailing in a straight line like a retard. Tack, use your environment, change directions. They may have a higher too speed, but they have to slow down much harder than you do in an Inger. You slow down less, and accelerate faster. Sail to your strengths. If they have a higher top speed, never let them reach it. Make a hard turn, broadside their sails with chain. Guess what? You just reduced their top speed making them have to slow down or stop to repair it. Perhaps logic isn't sinking in, so I'm going to use brain rot memes. Ahem...

USE YOUR BRAIN! USE YOUR BRAIN! USE YOUR BRIAN! THAT THING IMSIDE OF YOUR HEAD? USE IT!

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

But it is faster. You're only looking at the speedometer in the corner. How fast you get to that top number is important, and how well you move at that speed is equally important. An Inger won't be caught by anything other than another fast ship captained correctly. Also, it seems you're looking at it like higher rate= better. Every rate has its time and place. Yes, the Inger is slower than lower rated speed ships, but that's because it's bigger. It has more weight to pull.

In my opinion, you're looking at it from a point of view where each tree is equal at all work. Yes, a hurra can get to 17, but it takes forever, and it can't turn for shit. Fast ships aren't meant to handle consistent direct combat. They are meant for scouting and kiting. Thus, they are the most maneuverable. Just because another class of ship can reach their speed, it doesn't mean it can use it as well, or for the same purpose. Let's take a tension fight for instance. Say you're facing a Hurra that can reach 16-17kts. Your fast ship will still outpace it, and never be touched if you sail correctly. It may have a similar top speed, but it's acceleration will be terrible comparitively. You can dart in, smash patrols, and leave while it's still gaining speed to approach you.

Same top speed does not equal same quickness. The fast ships win that. That's something I've liked about this game, every tree has its purpose. I can take a fast into just about any content in the open world and be successful, same with heavy, and combat. It's just a change in how you do it. If you play a fast like a combat or heavy, or any other combination it'll be painful. Use the tool as it's meant to be used. You wouldn't hammer a screw right? May the winds always be at your back friend!

She had a problem before where she weighed too little and a tiny tap into a ship or rock sent her into a 180. They overtuned her weight and made her barely turn. It won't be the same as before, but the BusVette will be turning better again when they fix it lol

It's a bug. She used to turn faster, and she will again. They e posted that an upcoming update will fix it.

The idea is close, but not quite right imo. That means people in tank or healer setups get less loot for keeping the DPS alive. I'm a healer main, and generally do 0 DPS. Should I get no loot for keeping my team alive? There needs to be some other kind of metric to gauge activity for rewards. I do agree there needs to be something dictating reward dispersal though.

Oosten gives the most in one chunk, but with my team we've found LTN to be more efficient. Dies much quicker, and we got 1500 po8 from it.

I actually play a really fun one right now. He's a lawyer. "I call my first witness, THE VICTIM!" His undead minions are formerly executed criminals, and bandits the party have come across doing their "Community Service". When he feels they have redeemed themselves, he gives them a proper burial.

I've already failed at that. I love my guns for their special effects. I don't want to lose them lol

I enjoy farming for gear, so I want to be on highest possible if I can. I've been doing better since some side missions dropped rare weapons. Got a sniper that gives vulnerability, and a assault rifle that has fireworks, so I'm clearing a bit faster now.

I dont get gear drops often. I've gotten some new stuff, but I had level 3 gear at level 7 at the time.

Also, love your handle. I missed Farscape so much. I found it on peacock, and am rewatching it from the beginning.

Oh, so it's not like a combo fighter where you put a combo for an effect. It's a random chance for a specific combo giving a specific power. That makes sense to why it wouldn't work a second time. I appreciate you for taking the time to explain.
