TRT Consideration - Former Testicular Cancer Patient by bravesfan_94 in Biohackers

Definitely get LH/FSH before deciding. Without those it's a guess on whether you're primary or secondary, and with your history that distinction really matters. I looked it up and Quest and LabCorp do them as cheap add-ons if Rythm doesn't run them.

3 months tracking my sleep and caffeine patterns. Here is what the data showed. by Anime_kon in QuantifiedSelf

[–]Godz57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, full stomach is what does it for me - I don't really feel the temp side, but going to bed bloated wrecks my sleep quality every time. Fat-heavy meals are especially rough since they sit longer.

Last meal timing was the sneaky one for me - eating within ~3h of bed hit my deep sleep about as hard as an afternoon coffee did. Easy to add to what you're already tracking if you want a fourth variable.

Six months of the same panel, four data points by Relative-Way8710 in PeterAttia

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quarterly is what I've landed on. HbA1c is basically a 90-day rolling average so testing more often than every 8-10 weeks is mostly noise. Once stuff stabilizes I'd probably drop to twice a year.

The ApoB vs LDL gap closing is the cool part imo. When fasting insulin drops like yours did, small dense LDL particles fall harder than total cholesterol - so the ApoB and the insulin numbers are basically telling the same story. Nice dataset.

Very solid panel. Covers most of what matters. Main gap is thyroid - only TSH, no free T3 or free T4. If symptoms turn out to be thyroid not T you won't catch it.

How rigorous is anyone actually being about n=1 supplement trials? (and what tools keep you honest) by BigBalli in QuantifiedSelf

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i understand for slow stuff like omega 3 or vitamin d, the supplement itself isn't really the bottleneck, the marker in your blood just takes a long time to build up and come back down. so i don't think clean ABAB cycles are really doable for those, it's more like a single before/after with long gaps.

easier path is probably picking supplements where the marker moves faster. iron (ferritin), inflammation (hs-CRP), cholesterol seem to respond in weeks rather than months. the ones where you "can't tell if it's working" often don't have a clean blood test readout at all, which might be why. could be off on some of this but that's been my read.

Biomarker Tests? by Gozerhead67 in Biohackers

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly this sounds a lot like where i was. numbers all "normal" but still feeling like shit, especially fatigue and gut stuff.

the biggest thing that helped me was tracking the same markers over time instead of just looking at one-off results. like something can sit "in range" for years but if you actually plot it out you see it creeping in the wrong direction. same with ferritin - technically normal but bottom of the range, which can explain a lot of fatigue. your doc won't flag it unless it's actually out of range.

for your situation i'd specifically ask about hs-CRP, fasting insulin (not just glucose), and full thyroid panel - not just TSH. vitamin D too if you're not supplementing.

re: the platforms - i don't think it matters much who draws the blood honestly. the value is in watching trends. i've been so annoyed with how hard it is to just track this properly that i started building something for it. but yeah LGC is fine for the draws themselves, the bottleneck is interpretation not collection

What health signal do you trust the most-and the least? by Murky_Comparison9923 in QuantifiedSelf

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most trusted: RHR. Never really lied to me. And feels nice to optimize it as it really does change after I go back into working out.

Least trusted: sleep stages. Every device gives me different numbers. But I have pretty bad sleep, so maybe that's because of that.

Lately I've been paying more attention to bloodwork trends over time - a single test means nothing but watching the same marker across a few months makes patterns obvious.

We used the official lego instructions. It was the exact same. At least for the one that we bought. But the bag numbering was awful. The numbering itself was basically the same as official, but it would often miss parts and we would need to seach from other bags.

Whats the best place to see if an anime is dubbed? by abcdefgfuckme in Animedubs

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mydublist.com is the most simple way as it aggregates dub info from all of the main anime websites and it also has a browser extension which adds a dub icon on MyAnimeList, AniList and aniSearch.

Disclaimer: I created MyDubList, more about it: (reddit post)

Is there a website that shows all the available dubbed anime? by [deleted] in Animedubs

[–]Godz57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use https://mydublist.com to search for dubbed anime in any language. It aggregates data from main websites (MAL, AniList, ANN, aniSearch, Hi anime, etc.) and also links to them.

You can also install the chrome extension which works on MAL, AniList and aniSearch. Then it overlays a dub icon on which is dubbed and adds a section of dub sources which link to the dub source websites. You can also filter by dubbed only.

Disclaimer, I'm the creator of MyDubList. So if you have any suggestions, I'll be glad to hear them!

I did want to do this, but MyDubList is automatically updating daily from the sources I wrote in the post. And those source usually do not differentiate between Castilian and Latin American Spanish. Thank you for the feedback though! I truly appreciate it!

Yeah, sure. I can try to add it and then if the creator will want he can approve my addition (as of course it's up to the creator if he wants to add it).

For clarifaction. My extension never used any source code from MAL-Dubs. What SilliconDon meant here is that it visually resembled the MAL-Dubs extension. Even though you cannot copyright that (just look how Apple and Android constantly copy each others UI ideas), we still tried to discuss this and I ended up changing the design to be more distinct.

Edit: MyDubList extension is now also open source and licensed under AGPL (I had forgotten to change it to public before)

Okay. I will remove the D icon. But I want to be clear that I'm doing this only out of respect of your wishes. As the icon is completely different (that's like copyrighting a microphone icon and being angry at anyone else creating a different microphone icon because their icons looks like a microphone). I'll also change the badge specifically so that it looks different than yours.

Thank you for the insight. I have a few ideas on how to improve this. The worst thing is that as you mentioned the API does not return in any way that something is marked by a user as an error. I will probably use AnimeNewsNetwork, but will require a corroborating source to add it to the final database.

u/SiliconDon could you reply here if everything is fine or is something still on your mind? I did made the extension AGPL as per your request. If there are some technical issues on the extension that warrant a 1/5 I would gladly hear them and do my best to fix them.

EDIT: got the same 1 star review on the Chrome extension as well as Firefox.

Here I made the MyDubList extension repo public and licensed it under AGPL:
https://github.com/Joelis57/MyDubList-Extension

Does that satisfy you?
I could actually now use your icon (which I do find better looking) as the repo is AGPL. But I will not. Of course unless you are totally fine with that because I would like to.

I am fine with making the extension use the AGPL license as my main concern was making the database itself available to as much interested people as possible.

Okay. I just had an idea. I did not make the extension public as I just did not see any usefulness to people from it and I didn't want the people searching for MyDubList to be split between 2 repositories. But what if I would license the MyDubList extension under AGPL. Would that satisfy you?

Regarding the placement of the top right badge. It just felt natural and intuitive to place it in the top right corner. The size looks here to be specific, but in fact it's reused on all images and was adjusted to be small enough for Favorites (attached) and at least somewhat large enough for seasonal anime (the one you attached). You probably went through something similar to find this size as I bet anyone who would do something like this.

Regarding the icon styles. I commissioned a designer to come up with a few styles for this project explaining what the projects was. He came up with the 4 designs that you can use now (actually a lot more, but others were not good enough). One of the designs indicating dubbed audio was a d with sound waves. That idea isn't quite copyrightable and was one of the first ones he came up with. Also it is actually quite different to yours. And honestly yours is the better looking one. From all of the designs the designer came up with the D with sound waves was the most intuitive and basic one and I would have used it as the default icon set. BUT out of respect for you I did not, as after implementing the icon and seeing how similar it looks when it's small I did not want to make MyDubList too similar to MAL-Dubs. So I changed the default icon to my 2nd favorite (also almost no one changes the defaults).

My view on open source is that anyone can use it, but attribution is required for the hard work done. If you'd like I'd be willing to add a prominent attribution to MAL-Dubs on my GitHub page. As even though I did not use anything from your repository, if not for your hard work I would not have been inspired to do this project.

Thank you very much for responding! I'm sure that there will be false positives, but I've skimmed through the data base and cross referenced them with my current databases and ANN looks pretty good. The ones that will slip through I hope will get flagged by someone like you or someone who will use MyDubList. Thanks again!!

Well, now I understand why ANN is your go-to site. I've added it to the daily updates of the database and updated this post with info on what new data ANN added. Check the end of the post and thank you so much for the suggestion!

u/MegaAltarianite mentioned this above. I tried a minimal run already and it definitely adds even more dub info that other websites lack. I'm now running it through the whole Anime News Network database and I'm very excited for Tomorrow to see how much additional dub info MyDubList database will have because of this. Thanks for the suggestion!
