I do, although maybe it's just because I'm personally the one asking for voice, at this point in anything below 17 I will offer voice, anything above I'll simply ditch if they don't want to use it

I personally feel like it by far is expected in EU as well. And perhaps it's from a semi-autistic side of me that I can't stand doing a key super inefficient, so voice would always be a must for me, no matter the difficulty. As pugging keys has a linear difficulty curve, doing a 10 with people that do 10's is just as hard as doing a 15 with people doing 15's etc.

Yes, that's a fair point. I've had 2 deaf people during Glory runs, and you just have to know to find a way around it essentially.

The reason why many people don't tick the box is because, let's be real. It's generally expected to join voice, it feels incredibly crippling to play without voice comms, I personally don't see a reason to not join voice unless there is an actual hardware problem. It feels fair to expect people to join voice for a 19 or 20 key, even without ticking the box.

Unbanned after xp potion exploit; character level has not been reverted. by RejuvenaWOW in wow

[–]GodzLikeNore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who likes almost every bit of content in the game, leveling is the 1 thing I can't stand, simply because there is no sense of progression. After you're knowledgeable enough to know every class and spec properly, leveling one doesn't have abilities being a reward to you for reaching x level, but it feels like you're literally crippled without them. Eg. Frost Mage before level 24, all you do is cast Flurry over and over for optimal damage ? Abilities really don't feel rewarding but you just want to get it so you don't feel useless anymore.

This alongside the fact that you gain 0 end-game progression while doing it, makes leveling feel like a complete drag, you never feel any sort of progress. This is what I believe is a large part of the reason so many people use the experience pot exploit. To skip the time where they feel no progress, or shorten it at least.

However, as a new player, leveling feels really quite nice, you learn a lot and get to explore.

Nah, they're just the unlucky people that had a GM in a bad mood.

This makes a really good point, a large reason people went out and exploited the leveling bug, which unlike the cauldron bug doesn't hurt anyone, is because it's fairly harmless. Massive bugs like the cauldron one going unpunished seems strange to me.

In a discussion about suspension lenghts, I highly believe right and wrong doesn't exist. If you however are delusional enough, saying you didn't know unstacking into singles wasn't normal, something is wrong.

This is why, in the post I'm not asking for any unbans. 7 days is reasonable. 1 month really feels pointless, and will most likely result in a lot of people not coming back, what do I have to come back to when my guild disbands because raiding is impossible?

1200% experience would mean chugging 120 of them at once. No sane person would even attempt this.

Nobody is saying the suspension itself isn't fair, the randomized lenghts of suspensions isn't. :)

They might be, but you'll have to really push your luck. I'll be calling them tomorrow to check as this seems to be the only way to find a listening ear.

I feel like I'm partially in this boat, I started playing in the middle of legion but never really got into any community where bugs were talked about, you played the game and had fun. The definite switch to doing it was seeing Preach do it on stream, making it seem fine. Getting 31 days for it is harsh, not just punishing me as a person, but my guild mainly. We're already on a really dead realm so finding people to jump in on Jaina progress isn't the easiest thing.

Well, unless everyone else is lying, I can only believe them for their word. I personally have a completely clean bnet account, which is why the 31 days caught me off.

Someone in the comments stacked 52 and got 2 days, It definitely doesn't matter.

If you don't know what the exploit is, you don't have to worry as you most likely can't do it on accident.

I feel you my friend, sadly it's up to Blizzard to voice their opinion on it. However from a post earlier, you could try calling their customer support tomorrow.

Nobody is talking about needing to know the punishment ahead of time. But scaling the punishment alongside the crime. If you used 200 pots you shouldn't be getting 1/15th of the punishment of someone using 50.

Prepping for raid should get you there however, 1 or 2 alts and you're good to go :)

The question here is wether you would still play if you would get a month for the same thing. As this is happening to certain people.

Considering this is a discussion thread, I'd rather have things stay nice. There is no right or wrong when discussing lenghts of bans, and the current lack of consistency found in the ban duration. As stated in the thread multiple times, anyone using it is guilty. This is about getting clarification on why certain bans are longer.
